The beautiful scenery,variety of shops,the market,pubs, cafes. Unlike some seaside places nearer to home,the seagulls are very well behaved. The transport system around the island is excellent,should you be too tired to walk back. Frustrating having to find our way around the town, sign posts were either non existent or difficult to find. The island is not suitable to bring a car along as there are already too many cars on the road and parking is not easy in a busy town. The bus station, which we also found hard to find, is great but not enough buses running during the busy holiday period. Lots of sites to visit within easy walking distance of the harbour. The Georgian House, Maritime Museum and Elizabeth Castle were all fabulous places to visit. We enjoyed our ride on Le Petit Train to St Aubin's Bay and back. We found fabulous cafes - our favourite was Cafe Paraiso. Our favourite restaurant was The Rigatoni. The bus service to visit different parts of the island was absolutely excellent. As we did not hire a car we had to rely on buses. We bought a weeks pass this saved a lot of money. The bus service is very good and easy to negotiate. St Helier is a beautiful town. The streets are kept clean, I saw no rubbish anywhere. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants. If you like shopping there is a plentiful supply to choose from.Guest review byPatricia - 8.0

St Helier is very changed over the last few decades with the presence of the many finance buildings but some of its old stores and markets are still there and pubs and restaurants have survived which is lovely to see. There were a number of bars and great restaurants nearby, however, the hotel breakfast was very good and we had dinner one evening. The meal was nice, I had the vegetarian option and my partner the fish and chips both were enjoyable. The staff are all lovely in particular Figaro in the bar and restaurant. Hotel is 5 minutes from the town centre and 10- 15 minutes' walk to the Bus Station. Staff were really friendly.
