St Ives is a lovely town, it was a lovely sunny October day so we were able to enjoy food and drinks at The River Terrace cafe, beautiful setting by river. We will definitely stay again when in area,
Ease of travel if required to Cambridge. Use the bus service as carparking in Cambridge can be expensive. Houghton Mill well worth a visit with local pubs providing good food and drinks. Wide choice of restaurants in the town centre.
Lovely little fen country town. Plenty of shops and takeaways for an easy stay. Lovely old bridge with riverside benches for picnics, and stunning country walks - we walked the foot/bike path to Houghton Mill and the Busway to Fen Drayton lakes nature reserve.
I was visiting relatives for a short time. For me, it's of not much interest because I prefer the mountains. From Stoke-on-Trent I naturally head West or North. I don't do "flat". Prefer Big Bumps!
A great hotel which is always a bonus. We made a leisurely stroll along the river. You are spoilt for choice with a vast range of restaurants to eat food. Chill by the riverside cafe enjoy a coffee and a cake and take in the breathtaking views of the river and all that go up and down it. The town displays many shops and a market on particular days. Well worth a visit.
St Ives is a lovely historic market town with a good selection of shops and facilities -check out dates for the markets though. Explore the Norris Museum and walk through The Thicket to Houghton Mill (National Trust}. Easy and very convenient links into Cambridge and the RSPB reserve using the superb guided busway. You can even cycle into Cambridge alongside the guideway through lovely countryside. Hire a boat at Huntingdon and travel down the Great Ouse to St Ives - very picturesque with only two locks to manage. Plenty to do for a short break or a few days away for the modestly active.
Very well located for access to town with plenty of parking on site. It’s a quiet, small and friendly hotel with well appointed rooms and bathrooms. The only disappointment was the lack of cooked breakfast. We’ve stayed before and this has been good but sadly they are struggling to replace staff who’ve left but I would stress this is a national and hopefully temporary problem and the long serving staff have been working very hard to keep it going. Highly recommend for visiting St. Ives or a pit stop en route near Cambridge.
The property location was ideal for walks around St Ives and a little high street retail therapy (Honey Boutique is awesome for ladies wear!) It was also close to the river and all the restaurants along the river. The free car parking was a necessary bonus. The apartment is spacious and airy. The facilities in the flat were all lovely and high quality. The coffee machine and capsules was a real hit with my sister. The milk and cookies were also a lovely touch. The owners were very helpful and accommodating throughout.
It was a wonderful apartment in a quiet location about half an hours walk from St Ives centre but close to a number of shops, bars and restaurants. It was very clean and tidy with 2 large bedrooms and a very large lounge/dining room. Not ideal for young children as there are are number of breakable items ie glass table. Great for adults though .
Staff were friendly a professional. Location in the center of St Ives was perfect. Bus travel was great to London and Cambridge. Weather was a little chilly for this time of year, but coming from New York it was fine. Room temperature was easy to adjust and very cozy.
Great location for the town and access to river walks. Nice spacious kitchen with big table for family meals. Well equipped kitchen. Bedroom and bathroom accommodation good. Helpful host answered queries promptly.
