Located in Sawbridgeworth, 17 miles from Chelmsford, Sawbridgeworth Bed & Breakfast provides a garden and free WiFi. Lovely cooked breakfast along with cereals, juice, tea coffee and toast. Short walk to lovely village with pubs and restaurants. Superb hosts that were welcoming and helpful, great place to stay if you are flying from Stanstead or wanting to explore surrounding areas and rail link to London.
This small, AA 4-star gold-rated boutique hotel with a motoring theme has a large American-style kitchen, unique bedrooms and Morgan sports cars to hire on site. This is a quirky hotel with very attentive staff. A 24 hour DIY guest access breakfast room is novel and very useful. It is especially rewarding for Morgan car owners (like us), who can admire the current stock, order spares etc. Even if you don't have a Morgan you can admire the selection and even try or buy one!
The Barn Annex is set in private grounds 7 miles from Stansted airport and 2 miles from Bishop's Stortford with a direct 35 minute rail link to Stratford for the Olympic stadium, London and Cambridge.... Very welcoming owner, beautiful, quiet setting & spotlessly clean. More like staying with friends than most local establishments - units that are separate from the main house are lovely & facilities such as the TV lounge & washing machine are nice extras.
In the beautiful and peaceful village of Hatfield Heath, just 6.2 mi from Stansted Airport, this family-run hotel has its own leisure center with a heated indoor pool. From Brendan, the proprietor, to all the service staff, I could not fault. Friendly faces, courteous treatment. nothing too hard to assist with reaaly made the stay an absolute pleasure. Chef turned out impeccable meals, breakfast and in particular, his lamb roast!! I will have no hesitation to stay here again on my next visit to the UK.
If you look at August review Helen they also had superior room that smelt like sewer so the hotel purely hadn’t corrected this in August we had just come back today 20th September when we complained today attach this to my previous review please of complaint wish had seen before booking would never have gone especially o suffer from Copd too
Broken glass in the car park for several days Breakfast over cooked Cigarette butt’s outside the reception area were still there when we left Towels enough for one person only Dirty bathroom Cigarette butts outside our bedroom window Kettle wouldn’t reach any plug nearby One girl who was lovely but rushed off her feet trying to keep everyone happy but impossible. People barbecuing in the grounds Etc etc
I liked my large double room, which was warm and clean. The Jacuzzi, Steam Room and Sauna were clean and pleasant to use. Lauren delivered one of the best Hot Stone Massages I have ever had anywhere in the world. I could not fault the Breakfast, Restaurant, and Bar. The staff were professional and attentive the food was lovely and value for money. I encountered a problem with the hallway to my room, the manager and receptionist came straight away and offered solutions including an offer to change room. They were professional and competent. I chose not to change room, as, I was reassured by their professionalism and solutions. The local Parish Church of St James the Great has Commonwealth War Graves, where one can pay their respects. I also had a lovely walk into Sawbridgeworth to shop. I did not play golf at the hotel although it looked inviting.
Sawbridgeworth is a cute little town, with old buildings and small streets and a beautiful scenery surrounding it.I particularly like it, down by the river along the towpath. It also has several fantastic antic shops, in a huge brick building called The Maltings, just opposite the train station. You can find all sorts of interesting and rare stuff there.
A sleepy little Hertfordshire countryside town, steeped in history and charm. Lovely to walk around and get lost in... ideal for hikers who like to cover some distance, as there seems to be a public footpath in every direction! QWuick transport links to London and Cambridge.
