Such a well stocked fridge for breakfast, loved being able to make our own when we were ready for it Really friendly owners nothing too much trouble but they weren't intrusive. We loved everything about this place, the very responsive conversations with Alan prior to arrival, we felt a warmth and cosy welcome atmosphere. Newly decorated spacious rooms, crisp white lining and white fluffy towels….perfect! Location was perfect for quick routes into London by car or train. hotel/guesthouse was fabulous value for the price. Shame there was no cooked breakfast but the simplicity of help yourself when you want is a nice touch.

This 4-star country-house hotel is set in a beautiful 110-acre estate on the Hertfordshire/Essex border. The house, the grounds, the woodland, nature, groomed garden with atmosphere of history. The spa was not bad. The service is fast and real. Full relaxation in fresh air. Fountain and birds were the only sounds around, so good. The breakfast had a good choice of food, tasty egg dishes, milk products tasted real farm produce.
