Cober Hill, Weston Hotel, and The Red Lea Hotel got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Scarborough.
we had a dog with us which you were allowed to take into the room adjoining the restaurant and have your meals there with him which was good but one of our party was celiac and there were no gluten-free meals which made life quite awkward. There was no guaranteed attached or close parking
The Scarborough spa is an excellent show venue. They stage an annual 3 day jazz festival in September, also a punk music festival every March. I have also seen Count Author Strong. They stage wide range of first rate performers. Check out their website. Combine a weekend at the seaside with a festival or a show. Do not miss the excellent ice cream near the Spa. You can choose 2 scoops and sit overlooking the sandy bay and the castle. The castle has a fascinating history. A few miles North of the beach is the aquarium. £4-40 parking for 3 hours. £20-00 entrance, £15-60 online advance. Sept 2023.
Traditional holiday town with amusement arcades, fish & chips and donkeys on the beach. Lots of well kept parks and walking. Shopping is a mix of chain stores and small independents, an indoor market and a choice of places to eat. Bustling harbour with one of the "small ships" from Dunkirk and a replica of Captain Cooks's Endeavour. 2 theatres (1 open air so only open in summer). Rotunda museum, cliff railway and of course, Scarborough Castle. Sadly, no tourist information office, much like many towns nowadays. Fit in day-trips to Whitby and York while you are there, Easy by bus/train.
Looking as little run down since the Covid closures but everyone is trying their best. Florios still do the best food in town Stephen Joseph Theatre is still the best value for money entertainment around Lovely ice cream on the sea front - nowhere better
Beautiful place to relax - just take the up and down walks at your own pace! My Mum has limited mobility but she still walked up all the steps to the Castle, and all around Peasholm Park. We took advantage of being able to go to Whitby and take the steam train to Goathland and back, walk around the Abbey and enjoy the drive through the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. We packed in as much as we could in our 3 days and then took a slow drive home via Flamborough Head and Bridlington before heading back to Suffolk.
Enjoyed Scarborough we travelled around went to Whitby Filey York enjoyed nighttime strolls around Scarborough seafront. Had a lovely time and were blessed with the weather. Went to some craft fairs and enjoyed fish and chips on the seafront. The flat is a good base for everything. Good having parking as well.
Scarborough
I was looking for a hotel.for one night for myself ,my mother and my daughter, in the Scarbotough area. I thought this place looked nice, so booked. It far exceeded my expectations. The cottage is immaculate, beautiful and very well equipped. It was very close to the hotel restaurant and to the village shop. It would make a great base for exploring the Scarborough area, which is beautiful with lots to do. We would definitely recommend and hope to return for a longer stay. It was very good value for money too.
Scarborough
Turning a blind eye to the very steep 6 flights of stairs....This 70's / 80's themed accommodation is the gem of Scarborough. We were a bit apprehensive about the reviews heavily catering for Dogs/Pets considering we have no pets, but it was so clean. So quiet, so close to the Town and Peasholme park. Everything you need is there with treats and parking was perfect. 10/10 All Day for us 👍 We will be back.
Scarborough
Been to Scarborough a few times and have to say this is the best place we have stayed. The rooms were great sizes and were clean and modern. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was too much. Location is great, right near the tram to the beach (or the steps to walk down) and near many bars and restaurants in the town centre. Would recommend this hotel to family and friends and will definitely return.
I cannot describe how surprised I was with the quality of this hotel, I had my doubts when booking because the room was so cheap and I fully expected to get what I was paying for but this really wasn't the case, the room, the staff, the food and just the lovely atmosphere about this hotel shocked me, it was an incredible stay and I will never use any other hotel in Scarborough than this one. An easy 10 out of 10.
The grand Hotel in Scarborough, is amazing, I am gluten intolorent and they bent over backwards to accommodate me, providing a g f menu, as far as making me a sticky toffee pudding! It's been refurbished, with brand new carpets and decorated throughout. Will be going again, excellent👍 a big thank you for the friendly helpful staff.
Scarborough
Lovely accomodation, fantastic correspndence from the owner (Tim), nothing too much trouble, great sea views, 10 mins walk into the centre of Scarborough, lovely little cafe 2 minutes walk from the hotel (Fairways) for breakfast.
The convenience and friendliness of the hotel's reception staff. I also loved the traditional building itself and the Victorian grandeur it expresses.
