The Crescent Hotel is a Grade II listed building, located in the center of Scarborough and 10 minutes’ walk from South Bay Beach. The hotel overlooks the pleasant Crescent Gardens.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and can't do enough for you. The breakfast is excellent and we had the small plates in the bar which I highly recommend. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and it has a small lift for those of us who don't like the stairs. If you don't want a chain hotel and want to feel you're welcome then this is the place.

I love Scarborough. It is quite unspoiled in parts.

I love Scarborough. It is quite unspoiled in parts. The beach is great. The activities to do with children are great. The fairground(Luna Park) is so clean and well managed and the staff on there are lovely. In fact, any restaurant or activity we visited, the staff were all great. Buy a fishing net and catch tiddlers in Peasholme park or ride on the pedaloes there. Take a bucket to the rocks at South shore and find crabs under the rocks ( then put them back). Play mini golf/ crazy golf. Children love the 2p machines in the amusements and the Mr. Whippy ice cream available in many places. Just what you make it.

Lovely setting on the coast, with beautiful scenery.

Lovely setting on the coast, with beautiful scenery. Could be a base for exploring surrounding areas. Fun activities for the kids and families, good beaches for children and quieter beaches and parks. I thought the town generally was run down and scruffy. We were only there for one day but the food we had was fine. Friendly people.

A typical English seaside with faded elegance.

A typical English seaside with faded elegance. There are plenty of places to eat and drink. Some noisy pubs but also some hidden gems if you look. It has all the typical arcades and takeaways. The North side is much quieter. We walked along the coast to Filey and returned by bus, you need to be fit to do it but well worth the effort. Beware if you have mobility problems as it is very hilly. The walk up to Castle is worth it for the views

    Long lovely beach.

Long lovely beach. Pretty and well maintained paths to walk the full length of the beach and cafes and facilities all along. Lots of shops and bars. Excellent open air theatre. Very old fashioned seaside town with a 50s ice cream parlour and an on railway carriage from beach to the cliff hotels.

Loved the decor and feel of the hotel. Very modern and unlike a lot of the tired scarborough hotels. BUT felt a little like a youth hostel- Self check in, no one to ask for info, restaurant advertised to be open from 4pm as concert night but staff weren't aware and said it was 5pm; a bit disjointed. Rooms were lovely compared to others I've stayed in and only 30 mins walk from the outdoor theatre.
