A lot of our enjoyment was weather dependent - beach, sea- open top buses £12 day pass for 5 of us ( one a 2 yr old). Grandson wanted to ride them all day - great way to travel from south to north bay and to visit Peasholme park. Attractive beach and backdrop - good to have beaches where dogs allowed but also where not allowed too. Attractive harbour where could get cheap short rides on 'pirate' boats out to sea. Have always loved coming to Scarborough to take part in the Goldwing Light parade, not a lot of time to visit the many attractions. Lovely to find new restaurants in the town, to get a lovely meal other than just fish and chips. Loved the interesting architecture of the buildings, stunning views, beautiful clean beach with lifeguards. Variety of shops within easy walking distance, great choice of places to eat. Great Victorian tramway to get from town down to beach if you don’t want to walk. Lots of amusements, 2 theatres, nice indoor market Pretty harbour complete with lighthouse and the amazing Scarborough fair museum a 15 min ride away. A beautiful part of the country to visit, as we do , with our dogs over the last 2 years. It’s kept by the local council to an excellent standard. Grass verges being properly attended to , borders and their flowers so well maintained, and very clean and hardly any litter. The beaches are superb, clean and the sea is now so clear . Cayton Bay and Peasholme Park are our favourite places to visit. Great nature walk all around and the secret garden. Lookout on the Pier is an amazing place to eat and the fish & chips from the pier. Lots to do for families and solo travellers.Guest review byJay MBUnited Kingdom
