Situated in the picturesque village of Stainforth, The Craven Heifer Hotel offers a traditional country pub. The room was comfortable and attractively decorated. We had the family room which was big enough for 3. The staff were lovely. Excellent location for walkers I expect although you do need to drive into Settle.
In the heart of the charming market town, The Golden Lion at Settle dates from the 17th century and offers a bar, an elegant restaurant, and free Wi-Fi in public areas. A wonderful welcome was given by Ryan as we arrived. The room was ready early with our bottle of bubbly waiting as pre ordered. We will certainly recommend this hotel to friends.

Beautiful village and scenery all around. The famous Settle railway and Giggleswick village nearby too. We attended a friends wedding at Falcon Manor which served the small gathering of family and friends and service, food and outlook were fabulous.
Settle is lovely it has lovely old building interesting shop fabulous local walks and the best places to eat. I am going to go back next year and stay longer. We went to the Settle Folk Gathering a 4-day event with lots of folk music and morris dancers and the best bunch of friendly people you could ever meet. From July to September the town display characters made from flower pots all around the town they were fabulous to see and so imaginative., "similar to village scarecrow displays". Highly recommend Settle as a place to visit.
Quaint town, gorgeous countryside and great hill walks - after all, we're in the Yorkshire Dales! The Talbot pub was good for food - nothing out of the ordinary but lots of atmosphere in the pub. It's easy to walk around Settle town centre - there's a good choice of cuisine. We stayed at the William IV Guest House which was excellent in every way.
Settle is a beautiful town, good restaurants and pubs. Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and helpful, as a lone female traveller I felt safe in Settle! I recommend Matteos Italian restaurant in the Shambles, and the Indian restaurant in the market place. The Talbot Arms has a nice beer garden. Good train and bus services in the summer.
We liked the village atmosphere, looking around the local shops and found a great cafe on the main street called “The Old Naked Man.” Everything within walking distance and would recommend visiting there.
Travel by train from Carlisle and go on a Tuesday for Market, Great value antique shops and compact centre. take your walking gear as loads of Lowland and hillside trecks. Great local pubs and bars with beers brewed in Settle and local speciality pies. Best hotel and restaurant the Falcon Manor.

The apartment was gorgeous, very easy to find and in a perfect location, in a central location next to shops and just a few minutes away from some breathtaking walks. The apartment was very homely and clean and the cookies and wine were a lovely touch. It was very easy to keep in touch with the hosts via texts and email and there was lots of info in the apartment about Settle and surrounding areas. A wonderful weekend away and will definitely be visiting again!

Nice hotel, nice staff. Didn't eat any food as I was too hungover for breakfast but it smelled nice. Also the boss of the place gave me lift back to Settle as it was pissing down. Which was nice.
