Luxuriously furnished rooms and fantastic spa treatments, including a hydrotherapy pool and body wraps, make Bannatyne's Charlton House Spa Hotel one of the premier hotels in South West England. Exceptional customer service from the reception staff welcoming us to the hotel and to our room. Real warmth and kindness. Cute little room up in the eaves. Fantastic spa. Delicious breakfast. A really lovely break.
Shepton Mallet
Surrounded by views of the scenic Mendip Hills, The Highwayman Inn is situated in picturesque Shepton Mallet. It offers 14 refurbished en suite rooms, and free public on-site parking. Our room was excellent with a view to the hills and although overlooking a main road was very quiet due to the functional double glazing. The hotel is full of character with a comfortable bar area, friendly, efficient staff and a great English breakfast. On the night we were staying there was unfortunately no food available that evening but the landlord kindly suggested that the pub nearby might do food or we could get some delivered in. Large car park. We would definitely stay at the Highwayman again.
Shepton Mallet
This unique 15th-century inn is less than a mile from the centre of Shepton Mallet. It offers an extensive menu and cosy log fires just 15 minutes’ drive from Glastonbury. The owner, who seems to do everything, is a great cook (homemade pies to order) and excellent company. The building is showing its age but full of interest.

Located in Shepton Mallet, The Maltings - Apartments provides accommodation with free WiFi, within 6 km of Royal Bath and West Showground. Stayed here twice now, the accommodation is very clean and has everything you need for a short! Key is in a lock box, to which the owner sends you the code on the day! Two good sized bedrooms, kitchen is very well equipped. The only downside is the lack of a living/lounge room!

Located in Shepton Mallet, Courtyard Apartment provides accommodation with a patio and free WiFi. Set 5 km from Royal Bath and West Showground, the property offers a garden and free private parking. A gem of a find! Everything was perfect. The apartment was so clean and cosy. Ruth is amazing and we met some of her lovely friends during our stay. A very warm welcome indeed. The property has everything you need. We will definitely stay again.
Well worth visiting Shepton Mallet prison. We did escape the cell experience failed at the last hurdle given a bit longer we epuld have succeeded but an enjoyable family experience. Rosemary Greek restaurant was very nice. Friendly staff lovely reasonably priced food. Our waitress explained the dishes to us as unsure of some. We only spent one night in Shepton Mallet as part as an onwards journey. The Highwayman Inn was good for the prices it charges and adequate for our needs.
Just the worst place to stay ugh so much traffic noise Booked three days had to leave after one night Refused to give us any money back even though booking said they were happy if the well inn was happy . Booking . Com even phoned them up it cost £300 for one night they were rude and evasive didn’t return calls or email after 3 weeks finally spoke to a woman who told us in no uncertain terms to take a hick So please avoid like the plague ruins our 3rd anniversary romantic weekend heart broken . Booking.com were truly great and really tried to help
Nearby fuel supermarket etc. we ate with nearby family.visited Corsham and lacock ,Glastonbury and Bath also reasonably close. Stour Head also worth a visit. Good signage, best to not totally rely on the sat nav ..
Location very rural but we could easily travel to the towns and city we wanted to see. Good walks, we have two dogs. Bedrooms are pleasant and there are two sets of bathroom facilities. Two lounges - one for reading one for TV
Close to wells , bath and Glastonbury with good motorway links , lots to see in all places visited would recommend independent cinema in wells , fab place really quirky , artisan markets and food lovers paradise while also areas steeped in history amongst rolling countryside
Apart from a very interesting and worthwhile guided tour of the old prison, Shepton Mallet had very little to offer as a destination. Eating and drinking venues are quite limited and the town centre itself is rather depressing. Staying at the ''Dusthole'' (aka Kings Arms) was interesting and the food exceptional. The location served our purpose as we were visiting friends in the area.
Shepton Mallet
Everything. This was our first time staying at the Old Stables and we’re so pleased we found it. Alyson & Simon are the perfect hosts - they’re so welcoming, friendly and have great local knowledge which helped us really make the most of the area. The location, facilities and breakfast are all 10/10. Easy to get to Wells, Bath, Glastonbury etc. Plenty of space for a very relaxing stay. We only wish we could stay longer! It was great to meet Jasper the golden retriever too!
Shepton Mallet
Had a wonderful stay at the Courtyard apartment . Beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, every thing you would need for a stay plus extras like biscuits tea and coffee. Ruth was lovely, always helpful and the pizza we had from Ciabattino was delicious. We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and it’s wonderful garden terrace. Really hope to visit Ruth and the area again. Shepton Mallet is so central for discovering the delights of Somerset

Beautifully renovated property and gorgeous spacious garden. It was easy to find and a wonderful getaway from London life and feeling like you could breath fresh air again and forget your troubles. The owners were really warm and welcoming and it was lovely to get to know them and the history of the area. They had great recommendations and we feasted on all the local delights. Looking forward to visiting again.

This a good price. The accommodation is compact but adequate and very clean. The kitchen is well equipped. Water was hot and had good pressure in shower. Each bedroom has storage and TV. The beds are comfy. The location is very central to Shepton Mallet and within walking distance of places to eat. Paid parking is nearby. Shepton Mallet itself is attractive and a good place to explore the area

Great accommodating couple who I stayed with for the night of a friend's wedding in Pennard Hill Farm. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was top notch. They even gave me a lift from the station to the house & then to and from the wedding for a minimal extra fee (much cheaper than if I got a taxi or two). Highly recommend it if you're in the area.
Shepton Mallet
A lovely period cottage with many homely touches. Perfect for a family of 4 with a lovely well kept cottage garden at the back. Well stocked Co-op across the road and a great pub The Bell Inn a short walk away. Perfect location for exploring Somerset with Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Bath, Bristol and more in striking distance. A very comfortable stay with lovely helpful hosts.
