An exceptional boutique-style hotel in a leafy setting on the outskirts of Sidmouth's quaint town centre. The hotel represented good value for money and provided accommodation of the highest calibre. The cooked breakfast was delightful and there was always an offer of further helpings and coffee top-ups.

Our flight was delayed so we arrived after the restaurant closed. The owner and his wife made us welcome, even though they had closed for the night. They very kindly opened a bottle of wine and made us a wonderful dinner. Throughout the stay their hospitality was amazing. The owner would not let us walk to the bus stop, instead he very kindly drove us all the way to Sidmouth in his own car! They really could not have done more for us!

Lovely promenade and my partner loved the shops! We ate in our hotel. Busy little town with narrow pavements in places but we got around OK. Could be somewhat tricky though for those needing to use trolley walkers.

Good because no big chain shops; good cafes, nice little department store; lovely walk along the river; Interesting, easy walk at Connaught Gardens, near the hotel. A delightful, little Regency gem. I ate twice at Blinis: super lunches. I loved Pitbury's home furnishings

A small town with interesting shops, even has a department store. The museum was good and the Toy & Model Museum great for rainy days. A lovely theatre well worth a visit. I'm sure the promenade is very nice when the weather is good too!

The town was clean tidy and the people were very friendly and accommodating. WE had good fun on the putting green, kept really nicely by a most cheerful groundsman The swan was good value traditional pub For a pedestrian the town had a good amount of ped only streets, but car travel like a lot of towns was difficult

Sidmouth itself is a delightful coastal town with spectacular views. Unfortunately, it is let down by poor/average restaurants. We tried different restaurants for 5 nights, on our final night we settled for an Indian takeaway which was the best meal, by far, we had during our stay.

Sidmouth is a traditional seaside town which has retained its original character. It has a long, attractive promenade and the possibility of going on walks along the cliffs to other Devon villages. I had some lovely sunny days when the promenade, beaches and sea were full of families enjoying their time there. The town contains many individual shops, all seeming to be thriving, a department store which has been there for years, a theatre with a summer season, an interesting and well presented museum, and the possibility of boat trips to see the geological cliff faces of the jurassic period. There are no slot machines or pleasure arcades. Simply Sidmouth is a place for an enjoyable traditional English seaside holiday, and may it long remain so!

I’ve been to sidmouth many times to visit my grandparents and this time was a bit more difficult but I had the best hotel stay. The property was exceptionally clean, tidy and mark and Jan were amazing hosts, so welcoming and hospitable. They went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and in a sense a home from home. I’m so grateful for such a lovely stay at such a difficult time for me.

The Royal Glen Hotel occupies an historic building a stonesthrow from the beach at the Western end of Sidmouth sea front giving easy access to the beach and the town centre. Our six o' clock arrival was dealt with in an efficient and friendly manner, and, noticing my Wife's walking stick, the ' Receptionist' called the lift for us without prompting....a very thoughtful gesture.

A great hotel with parking and in a good location. It was a 10 minutes walk from the centre of the town. The breakfast was efficiently served and there was a good selection to choose from. The beds were very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
