South Shields is a great place with very friendly people.
South Shields is a great place with very friendly people. Prices are reasonable and there are several places to drink and eat. Like lots of other seaside towns there are several closed shops and shopping is mainly cheap shops and charity shops. The Roman village is fabulous as is the ferry across to North Shields. First visit to South Shields and we were surprised at how empty it felt of visitors in early June for such a nice clean place with many fine parks and coastal walks to try out. Sandy beaches and loads of restaurants to try out too. We stayed in a flat in Henry Nelson Street and with 20 minutes you could walk to enjoy sea views and clean beaches or go the other way into Town. The fair is excellent and ocean roads restaurants -well you’re spoilt for choice. It could do with a few more bars to call and have a drink or two before your meal.
