Hotel in Southport
With its grand original Victorian façade, this AA 3-star hotel has superb facilities and a great location, right on the promenade, enjoying panoramic views over the coastline of the North-West. The staff were excellent throughout the whole stay. In particular, the duty manager, Mike, was exceptionally friendly and helpful and had lots of tips on places to go and things to do in the town. There was always a certain level of staff-guest distance, but not the frosty formality you find at many hotels. It was refreshing. The location is excellent. Close to everything. The main lounge/bar area has been done out superbly and shows how grand the place must have been in the past. The bar is also ludicrously cheap for a hotel. From what I could see in my short stay, Southport isn't blessed with a great number of good pubs (I found one, the Windmill), but that didn't matter when you had this 40 yards from the door of your room. I would however ask that they don't have that bloody radio station on the TV all day and evening. Breakfast was a bargain and really good quality.

Many families visiting Southport loved staying at Anelli Hotel, Salfordian, and The Bold Hotel; BW Signature Collection.
Excellent amenities. Super shops and restaurants. The Little Theatre good entertainment. Lots to do. BUT not somwhere to go if you really want a 'seaside' holiday as the sea is a long way out, even at high tide. All the usual seaside attractions and pleasure parks though. Ate at L'Auberge. Huge portions of very well prepared food at a very reasonable price (3 courses £20.00)
Good transport if you don't bring the car. We went on the train to Crosby. Atkinson centre was really nice. Galleries and a suprising Egyption collection. Nice coffee bar too Lots of bars and pla es to eat out..
Southport is a great place for all ages and families it has a lovely pier that has a little train that you can take if you don't want to walk the whole length of pier it's very long. shopping is really good also plenty of eating and drinking places. The surrounding areas are good too hop on a bus to them or taxi. The beach is good yet I've never seen the tide in!
Southport is one of my favourite places .it is beautiful by the pier and gardens.plenty shops.interestig place.victorian facade and canopies very nice. A ride on the train along the pier to the beach very enjoyable and picturesque.
Love love the shops a lot of family ran bouquets. We Went to the Atkinson. What an amazing place small the staff are lovely. Lots of gin bars even on a Tuesday. Something I’ve not experienced for a long time resident could drink in the bar past 23:00 in fact till 2 am. AT the Bolt hotel When you’ve been to a show you want to have a drink after.
It's gone a lot scuffle now alot of the shops an bars are closed the pandemic has killed off southport not alot to do there any more needs more hair salons an better entertainment on there just because it was February after all it was valentine's night southport needs to do better
After reading quite a lot of poor reviews I nearly opted to cancel and book another hotel…it just goes to show how wrong it would of been of me to do that. The hotel is dated but our rooms where clean, comfortable and cheap.one room was on the first floor and the other on the fourth. I can’t comment on the food because I dinned out both days.but overall excellent for the price. I’d definitely book here again the next time I stay in Southport.
ideal location , we arrived early and they gave us our keys as the room was ready . shops cafes bars boating lake all within walking distance . we had a room with a kitchen , kettle toaster microwave fridge ect also tea and coffee ect in the room when we arrived . beds comfortable and will be returning to this hotel when next in southport
always stay at the clifton. Love the size of the rooms. very airy rooms. Yes it needs updating and they are but i love the history of it and the position. We got a free upgrade that we didnt ask for which if the hotel isnt full occupancy on a sunday night for example why night. My favorite place to stay and i love southport.

Great location, just minutes from the town and promenade. Clean , well presented hotel. Comfortable beds, clean linen and soft towels. Good breakfast in pleasant dining room. Ainsley ( the host) and Remi ( her daughter) are lovely and helpful. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Southport.
The ambiance and room sizes and the fact it's traditional rather than swanky and souless. It should remain a jewel of southport, and please someone just give it a bit of tlc.
