Glenbeag Mountain Lodges features mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Glenshee, 6.2 mi from Glenshee Ski Center. We love the place as it was very clean organised jacki and Stuwert was very helpful . Definitely will book agin next year . Much space and peaceful location .
Love glenshee ski centre. Been going there for over 10 years. Great to see improvements being made. Also able to get to the lecht ski centre in under an hour along a beautiful route. Had very very very bad experience at DALMUNZIE CASTLE. Would not recommend and will never stay there again and would ask people to consider carefully when looking for somewhere to stay for a great get away break
Go when the snow is there. We managed to get over the summit in fairly heavy now without 4WD but it was a bit dicy. If it is snowing and windy also the drfiting can cause a whiteout at a moments notice. Glenshee is a worthwhile stopover while jouneying to/from the north.
The Cairngorms are unique and Glenshee is a good attempt at utilising the moderate ski potential. In alpine weather it would be a Davos but climate change denies this. The increasing emphasis on walking, Biking, motorbiking , painting photography with the good access by road mean that there is enormous potential for people to enjoy these iconic hills BUT there has to be a wet weather program - small well organised local museums with really good history eg Braemar castle . Pitlochry lets the side down ( fish ladder closed due to health and safety -what is that code for. There should be a guy showing films of leaping salmon- and getting kids to see live salmon parr - it must have a massive history . Local craft shops ok but if you want to develop tourism there has to be more.
Unclean, tired, not well kept. Unprofessional, guest book in room needs updated!!! Missed breakfast for this reason which was supposed to be included in room. Did not accommodate for this although we were not in the wrong. Not a great experience. Waiting staff lovely an asset to this hotel and the walks were stunning other than that I would not recommend this place to anyone
The peace and quiet, stunning scenery, which was enhanced by the picturesque snow. We ate in the hotel, where the menus and food were very good It was easy to get around Glenshee on foot. Walking is a popular activity for all ages. Golf is available during summer mknths
Great opportunities for hillwalking and also for ski-ing in winter. We ate at our hotel, and also at Gordon's in Braemar and The Bothy in Braemar, and the cafe at the Glenshee Chairlift. In all these places there was a good selection of meals, cakes and scones etc. There is a very good outdoor shop attached to The Bothy in Braemar. We also visited Braemar Castle and used the Chairlift down from the Cairnwell. We saw deer, mountain hares, ptarmigan and also an Alpine Gentian on the hills. No eagles though.
