Hotel in St. Peter Port
Set in beautiful gardens, St Pierre Park Hotel has free Wi-Fi, and an indoor pool and gym. There is a 9-hole golf course, as well as tennis courts, and a crazy golf. Breakfast was lovely, I feel the room was slightly over priced for what it was.
Hotel in St. Martin Guernsey
Located in the quiet, green valley of St Martin, La Barbarie Hotel overlooks Saints Bay. With a swimming pool, restaurant and stylish rooms, there is also free parking and free Wi-Fi. As I was here for work I did not venture out much after my busy days and being autumn, it was also dark. I am told the area is very nice and pretty. The staff were very helpful and where they sat me in the restaurant seemed to be chosen with care. All staff were kind, attentive and helpful. Was particularly impressed when outside the hotel waiting for a taxi that did not turn up - 20 minutes + late. the receptionist came out and offered for one of the staff to take me to the hospital (where I needed to be). That was above and beyond and very appreciated. The restaurant evening meal was very nice and I was fortunate to be there during their 'tennerfest' event, which meant 2 courses for£17.50 which was very very reasonable given the choice on the menu and the tastiness of the food. Unable to take advantage of the pool though - weather and dark nights not permitting.:)
Hotel in St. Martin Guernsey
Formerly an 18th-century manor house, Les Douvres Hotel offers scenic gardens and a heated outdoor pool in the summer. Breakfast was lovely, st Martin’s is our favourite place to stay in guernsey. Staff were brilliant despite island-wide staff shortages
The overall historical significance of the Channel Islands through the last millennium is fascinating -- the back and forth with France and England. Then, there is the significance of the German Occupation during WW2 with the artifacts that were left that are incredible. The island scenery, with the old, old houses and buildings, as well as the beautiful coastline, make this a very interesting, yet relaxing place to stay. The bus system is very easy to use and cheap with a 7 day pass. If you are looking for an interesting vacation, this is a good place to visit.
St Saviour is a fairly quiet inland part of Guernsey. We wanted a quiet country hotel and this is exactly what we got. A hire car is necessary easily to visit the numerous attractions on this lovely island. A particular highlight was the west-facing Cobo where we spent quite a bit of time enjoying the view. St Peter Port is showing some, perhaps inevitable, signs of recession but is still a most enjoyable visit. We appreciated the ease of car parking for a short time close to the centre.
Loved the landscapes, the beaches, the friendliness of the bus drivers, the walks, the extraordinary accessibility of monuments (walk into a neolithic grave; into St Appolline's chapel); the hedge veg! Found the bus timetable a little difficult to navigate.
Quite remote but beautiful in its own way. Well served by a Morrison shop and combined garage, No swimming beach but a wonderful vista that changed dramatically with the tides. A hotel close by for an occasional drink or meal. Good bus service and any journey one cost a pound!
A lovely parish with good facilities. There is a pretty village nearby with a post office/gift shop, and a Morrison’s supermarket. A lovely bus or car ride will take you to the stunning West coast beaches. The parish church is also worth a visit, as is Auberge du Val hotel/restaurant.
Everything to like and enjoy in this beautiful region with interesting rocky coastline and lovely leafy lanes. However, the powers that be MUST introduce legislation to crack down on ultra noisy low powered motorbikes and scooters that seem to be ridden without silencers and greatly spoil what otherwise would be a wonderful holiday experience. These machines are abominable!
We liked everything about this hotel. The rooms are big, bright and comfortable and the view to the sea is amazing. The food was always of five star quality from the taste to the presentation. We will definitely recommend to friends and family.
Bed really comfy Breakfast very nice Very relaxing stay, thankyou! (Visited Sark one day and needed 23hour parking spot so having a bus stop directly outside the hotel was very handy)
