Set in the heart of Staffordshire, this 3-star pet friendly Best Western Tillington Hall Hotel is just half a mile from the M6, and is within easy reach of Birmingham International and Manchester... The staff were wonderful, especially Jamie on Reception who greeted us. He was so kind and friendly and helpful. We had our dog with us and there is a large field at the front where she could run about, it was just perfect. The room was comfy and it was lovely to have tea and coffee facilities in the room. There was a nice seating area in front of the hotel where you could enjoy a beer or a coffee and the prices were reasonable.

We spent a couple of days at Trentham Gardens which was absolutely wonderful. We would definitely/maybe recommend a visit. There is also a garden centre there that's worth a look and the food in the cafe was a delight. The service was spot on especially with the covid restrictions in place. Lichfield cathedral and city another lovely place to visit. Local shops, cafes and bars.
My first visit to Stafford left me with some extremely pleasant memories. The near absence of traffic from a wide central area is a big bonus. Lots of impressive buildings, an attractive river, and of course the wonderful swan Hotel all contributes to my enjoyable stay
I liked nothing coupled with very poor services. NO value for the money paid. We only ate 1 breakfast out of 3 paid for. So, so bad. The service was very poor. We have to argue with staff before they could give us a change of beddings and towels once in the 3 nights spent at the hotel. The 2 female staff we met in the office on Sunday, February 9, 2020, have perfected the act of giving different excuses to customers to avoid rendering necessary services. They told us categorically that they can't come to clean our room and change the beddings for us.
It is a good base for so many Staffordshire tourist sites shugborough. Cannock chase. Castles. The new waterside shopping centre at stafford . The very large farmers market on first Saturday each month at stone.
Only visited our daughter, so a tourist trip wasn’t the plan, just a comfortable and slightly querky hotel near their flat, a bit different from the standard hotel. Lovely seating areas downstairs. Would stay agsin
We were only at Stafford for a weekend to attend a function so can't say anything about any places to vist.. On the hotel site was a Green King pub/ restaurant and the food and drink was very good and value for money and only a short walk from the hotel
