Staithes has alot to offer and has a lovely harbour and...

Staithes has alot to offer and has a lovely harbour and access to walking via the Cleverland way.Two pubs ( The Royal George and The Cod and Lobster) both are really friendly with great food.Staithes has some quirky shops and Dotty's tearoom is a must, with great cocktails and entertainment on some Saturday evenings.The museum is worth a visit and be sure to watch the 20 minute documentary on the history of the village, by one of the locals.There are lots of local attractions ( Runswick bay, Whitby, Robin Hood bay, Thornton le dale )

Peaceful and pretty.

Peaceful and pretty. Quiet but with a couple of good pubs serving food, coffee ships and a few interesting little shops. The museum was interesting too. Easy and punctual bus routes to Whitby and Saltburn by the Sea, if you don’t have a car, for other days out. Very steep walk up to get to the bus stops though!

Quite a busy little place, but also quiet. The locals were all very friendly and it seemed to us to have a very strong sense of community. Ideally placed for Runswick Bay, Saltburn on the coast and the North Yorkshire Moors and railway inland.

beautiful village, wonderful views and walks, lovely place to have a quiet break. Due to size of access to village, roads and paths this not a place for large vehicles and due to the steep hills and many steps not a place for those with moderate+ mobility issues.

Pre-book a table at the Cod & Lobster, the food is amazing. Take a walk across the stepping stones over the river and up to the woodland walk, it's very peaceful. Staithes is a very special place, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. You can pre-book parking spaces at the Glenvale Car Park for a reasonable rate and come and go during your stay with the reassurance that you have your own parking space to come back to. Park at the short stay spaces at the bottom of the hill to drop off your luggage and supplies. The walk up and down the hill to the car parks is not for the faint hearted.

Spacious comfortable house with pleasant kitchen, dining and lounge area and off-street parking (big bonus in Staithes). Close to shops and bus stop and short walk down to the historic centre/waterfront. Good value. These Yorkshire fishing villages mean a trade-off between atmosphere, views in the old centres and convenience, space, parking etc in the newer sections. This is a good example of the second option. Staithes is lovely and can also be used as a base for other areas e.g Whitby, Saltburn and walking on the Cleveland Way.

The accommodation was lovely, with comfy beds and a fully stocked kitchen with a range cooker. The enclosed garden was a bonus as we had a small dog with us. Plenty of hot water. The owner was very responsive when we had a couple of issues.
