I didn’t particular like the town, it was a bit run down with not many good shops and the layout was really confusing. Everywhere is walking distance with a big Tesco and Asda and quite a few restaurants and nice people, but the area was a bit chavy.
We didn't see much of stevenage other than the retail parks, which were great. If you've come to enjoy a shopping trip stop for a bite to eat or even to partake in an activity like Mr mulligans crazy golf... You won't be disappointed.
Did not go into Stevenage. Came to UK for funeral of my brother in WGC. I was brought up in WGC and went to school in Hitchen in 1950's. In NZ for 50 years Hotel was in the right place and away from too much traffic.
My visit to stevenage was only to accompany my sister for cancer treatment at the hospital. So this was more of a necessity rather than pleasure trip. Best place to eat in stevenage is nando's. There is a theatre n leisure park if you are there for a break
The old town is pleasant but the main shopping centre is dated and feels a bit unloved. The leisure park has plenty of places to eat and for entertainment and there is no shortage of super stores but apart from the old town it lacks character and the housing estates just go on forever.
Lovely area, the high street in particular was lovely to drive through, seems like a posh area. Opp is ire the hotel we stayed in was a beautiful Indian restaurant, the best Indian good I’ve ever had called shurma/sharma/surma was a really lovely restaurant would 100% recommend you to try their food.
