The location was ideal, in the middle of Stonehaven. The Guest House was very nice. It was clean and comfortable. The owners were very welcoming. The breakfast was excellent. We had a very enjoyable stay.

I have been visiting Stonehaven every year since I was born.
I have been visiting Stonehaven every year since I was born...(68 yrs!!) My gran and mum were from Macduff, so we stayed at the caravan site for many years then had a small cottage near the railway station where we also stayed. I love everything about Stonehaven, the town itself, the people, the harbour, beaches, walks and of course, gorgeous Dunnottar Castle! As long as I'm able, we will continue to return as often as possible!

I believe it is packed in the warmer weather. Not surprising as it is near to Dundee for RRS Discovery and the Cairngorms on the way to go monster spotting.
The RNLI practise on Thursday and Sunday morning. The water is very cold. I won't ever be needing their help.

Firstly a fantastic little flat , you are right on the harbour which is quite a busy place when the weather is good , a couple of nice bars and restaurants and a cafe , town centre is a 5 minute walk and the sea front to towards town centre is a great walk with local sea view eateries . A goo base for setting off on some nice sightseeing .

The town of Stonehaven was pleasant to walk around.
The town of Stonehaven was pleasant to walk around. It was very clean and had some nice bakery shops and an assortment of restaurants. People were helpful in giving suggestions and directions when needed.
The town's beach was clean and they had a lovely boardwalk around the beach and over to the marina, with very interesting metal sculptures, depicting different types of ships and working boats and other objects.
It was a short drive to the awesome Dunnottar Castle which was well worth the visit.

I was there for a literary festival but would go back just for a short break.
Stonehaven is a compact and picturesque town with gorgeous sea views especially if you are able and willing to climb up to the War Memorial which we did. We had lovely weather too which was a bonus.

We loved this cottage. It was so peaceful yet only a short drive to Stonehaven, Portlethen and Aberdeen. The owners were so welcoming and left us a lovely welcome pack. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything you could need for your stay. There was plenty of space for the four of us to spread out to enjoy the two comfortable lounges and the large modern kitchen. My grandson enjoyed being able to run around in the beautiful gardens. We would definitely recommend staying at Sauchenshaw.
I really liked the fabulous location, gorgeous views, ability for my kids to have horse riding lessons and hacks; closeness to Stonehaven and to Dunnottar Castle; Netflix on TV; lovely patio area next to the caravan. There were only two caravans, so it felt very cosy and personal to be there. The staff was always friendly and happy to help.
The property sat right on the harbour with great views. central to everything that Stonehaven has to offer. Jane was a wonderful host…always cheerful and helpful. wish we could have stayed longer. an endearing place.
Everything. Beautiful property so close to the harbour.
Decorated to a high modern standard. We had a lovely few days in Stonehaven and would definitely return to this property.
