My best friend and I took my 16 yr old daughter to the UK for a "girl's trip." We began our 8-day UK adventure in Stow-On-The-Wold and stayed for 3 days at The Kings Arms Hotel. I can't say enough about how wonderful the Cotwolds are, and what a special place Stow-On-The-Wold is- truly magical! We were so pleased with The Kings Arms- everything about it was perfect. We booked room 7- a true triple room (hard to find) with 3 super comfortable beds, and plenty of room. The decor was lovely and had a very upscale feel to it. The staff was warm, friendly and so accommodating. The pub was great with good food and a nice wine selection. The location was great for exploring the surrounding villages and easy to navigate. We plan on returning one day soon!

Most beautiful wholesome breakfast, made to order & fresh produce as one would expect in heart of an Agriculture hinterland. Staff were so welcoming & accommodating. The ambiance of this boutique hotel & quality of the breakfast made us decide to extend our booking to an additional night. The freshly made oat porridge with fresh local honey was such a great start to our day.

My sister and I stayed at The Sheep for a long weekend and couldn't have been happier with our choice! The staff were exceptional, and nothing was too much trouble. They even helped us with our heavy suitcases with a smile :) We had both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were very happy with both the choice and quality of the food. The bar area was comfortable and again, the service excellent. We wanted to stay somewhere that we wouldn't need to drive if we didn't want to, and The Sheep was perfectly situated for the restaurants, coffee shops, pubs and shops in town. Just step outside the front door! We have recommended the Sheep to our family and friends.

we cannot control the weather! I visited Stow for the opera which was close by but not walking distance). I think it was expensive for a single person although the charges are in line with other accommodation in the area.
We went just before the Coronation, the whole town had a wonderful village community about it ,it was lovely.Bourne on the water was pretty but not the best place to see,try the slaughters, they look as if they are suspended in time.Chipping Norton has a lot to see,the church was beautiful, the Italian Restaurant was great, lovely owners starting up in the village only before christmas.
Beautiful town and surrounding countryside. Lots of old buildings around a central square with several pubs and restaurants plus numerous unique shops. My stay was too short to fully enjoy the town NOTE OF CAUTION FOR POTENTIAL VISITORS: Twice per year, the town plays host to a Horse Fair which, due to previous trouble, results in pubs and restaurants closing for several days. As a result, at the time of my visit, all pubs were closed as were all but one of the restaurants. It is suggested that dates of the fair are checked prior to booking.
Lovely little boutique shops. Plenty of choice to eat. Great base to travel around the cotswolds Fabulous food at the kings arms and lovely welcome. The old stocks, great cocktails Didn't rate Huffkins for coffee and tea cake. Lots of other little independent coffee shops.
Wonderful gentle interesting village . Lots of tea rooms. The porch house does fabulous food but book . Other villages worth seeing and within 15 mins borton on the water . Lovely independent shops .lots closed on Monday and Tuesday.
The restaurants, pubs, shops were excellent and the craft beer cafe stood out as being particularly excellent. There were many amazing places to walk and towns to explore nearby. Thoroughly reccommended
This is a magnificent hotel. The rooms are luxurious and roomy and very well equipped. The beds and linen were immaculate and crisp and clean and very comfortable. the towels were lovely and soft. the hot water and shower and bath were amazing. the tea, coffee and complimentary sherry and sweets were a surprise. the tv was great and the location was only minutes away from all bars and restaurants we would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting to visit Stow on the Wold.
Stow on the Wold
Great location, right in the centre of Stow on the Wold. We received a very warm welcome from Clifford and were treated to a cream tea on arrival, with warm scones from the local bakery, which were lush! The room was spacious. A continental breakfast was provided, with a choice of either sweet or savoury croissants, toast and granola with yoghurt, tea, coffee and juice. The accommodation had only just opened recently and we wish the owners and Clifford well.
The food was excellent and service to match. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Location is right in the heart of the picturesque Stow on the Wold among loads of very nice places to eat and drink. I would highly recommend this hotel. Epilepsy who live in the North West of England may conveniently choose the Lake District but for the slightly longer travel time to the Cotswolds is worth it. Really great hotel in a great location
Fantastic location in Stow marketplace with the added bonus of private parking behind the hotel. The hotel is packed with character and we were very well looked after by the friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was great - freshly cooked to order - and we also enjoyed a good evening meal in the pub on the ground floor. Overall, a really nice place to stay in a historic building in the heart of the Cotswolds.
The location of the hotel in Stow on the Wold was perfect for visiting local areas. The Marketplace was lovely with great little shops and restaurants, especially the Sheep. We ate at the Stag on our first evening and the food was very good, and a great selection of choices for breakfast too. Lots of beautiful villages only a few miles away. The staff were very good and very polite and would do anything for you.
We stayed for just one night but were warmly welcomed and soon checked in. The room was as expected, cosy and comfortable. The bed too was comfortable. The hotel is very dog friendly which was one of the main reasons for choosing the hotel. The location is excellent too right in the main area of Stow on the Wold.
