This luxury country-house hotel is located in the Cotswolds, with wonderful views over 100 acres of grounds. Very relaxing short over night stay. Didnt get chance to use the facilities unfortunately due to lack of time. Sat out in the garden with a gin and tonic, had a lovely eve meal, the whole experience was just so special especially as they had upgraded us to a suite which was a very nice surprise. Wished we had stayed longer and will definately return. Lovely setting of course in the picturesque Cotswolds!

The rooms are very comfortable and nicely decorated, good beds, you feel at home. The breakfast is amazingly good, no buffet but everything freshly made to order. We left fot Oxford to another expensive spa hotel with swimmingpool and sauna and everything, but we miss the Stowlodge hotel and wish we had just stayed there and had driven up and down... We only had a short amount of time to look around Stowe but it was quaint with lots of interesting shops and places to eat and drink. We did not have time to explore the surrounding areas but from what we could see there was a lots to do and explore.
Very disappointing, very difficult to find places to eat, places willing to accommodate people wanting meals after 15:00. In general, just not a very welcoming town, basically the message from the local restaurants and pubs was "tough luck, we can't cater for you "
Great location to get out and about along with opportunities for walking. Good range of restaurants, recommend the Prince of India. Parking problematic if staying as restricted to 2 hours in town and the Town long stay car park by Tesco fills quickly.
Really pretty town which is ideal for a break from the city and lots of long country walks with lovely scenery. There are lots of fantastic pubs with excellent food and the Donnington brewery is within walking distance and definitely worth a visit. We particularly enjoyed our dinner in the King's Arms. Lots of nice little shops selling local produce.
Stow is beginning to look a little tired. Having visited many times over the years, it has lost its charm. It is, however, a good place to stay as Bourton on the Water and Broadway etc. are not far away.
A pretty town with fairly upmarket shops, cafes and restaurants. I think we would have struggled to find things to do or more places to walk around the town if we hadn’t planned to tour the surrounding towns in the Cotswolds as part of our trip.
Stow on the Wold
The cottage was a lovely conversion of an older property in a quiet courtyard positioned centrally in the attractive market town of Stow on the Wold with easy access to pubs, restaurants and takeaways. The quality of the property was excellent and it was well-provided with utensils, TVs, satellite etc. Good heating system and excellent shower. Would happily return again and recommend it to anyone. No dedicated parking but we were able to park on the roadside without any problem.
Stow on the Wold
This is a lovely little cottage in the middle of the charming town of Stow on the Wold. Due to the ongoing difficulties with Covid 19 we didn’t have the opportunity to meet the owner but gained access to the property using a key safe. When we did need to make contact they were most helpful. The cottage is small, cosy and comfortable and a perfect place from which to explore the Cotswolds. We wished we’d had longer than a weekend!
The property is in a great location on the Main Street in stow on the wold making it easy to walk to all the pubs and restaurants on the evenings. It’s a great base for exploring the Cotswolds. We stayed in room 6 on the top floor and it was a decent size, however he bathroom was very small. Bed was comfy and nice little touches like milk, Sherry and fudge in arrival.
Stow on the Wold
The Inn being the oldest in Britain was quaint charming and beautifully appointed. The food was of a high standard and nothing to do with “pub grub”. Excellent plating, fresh produce you could taste all the flavours with both vegetables and fish/poultry done just right! Porch House Hotel is a great start to a gastronomic feast of a holiday in the Cotswolds!
Brilliant boutique hotel on the main square in Stow on the Wold. It has been sympathetically modernised and has a great atmosphere. Rooms comfortable and well-equipped. Both dinner and breakfast were very good served by friendly and helpful staff. Nice bar area and outdoor area.
We enjoyed staying in such a lovely characterful hotel. The staff were very friendly and the place was spotlessly clean. The location was right in the centre of the town so we were within easy walk to shops, restaurants, a great base for exploring the beautiful Cotswolds.

Breakfast was great being a full cooked breakfast with a very good choice of juices, jams etc. Location was right in the square of Stow On the Wold and there was plenty of parking out the back of hotel.
My son is gluten and dairy free which seems to challenge the most fancy hotels but number 4 made up specific food that was fantastic and great for a 7 year old.
