We loved everything. It was the most perfect cottage. Immaculately clean, gorgeous furnishings. There was bread, eggs and milk when we arrived. We loved the fire place and the beds were comfy. The Oak pub a few doors down was a great place for a drink and dinner. Communication with Rebecca was excellent. We would love to visit again.

The breakfast was superb, with top quality ingredients excellently cooked. The night before I returned late after a concert, and the staff kindly kept the bar open for me.

We liked the unusual location alone in the middle of the common, the age of the place and its sensitive decoration. The breakfasts were outstandingly good with some interesting options such as the Greek one, with olives and feta. The bed was comfortable and the shower powerful. We also had an evening meal which was superb. So good we had a second (on a subsequent day!) All the members of staff were friendly and helpful in spite of being very busy at times.

The attentiveness and concern of the staff was outstanding. The room upgrade, to one with a superb view of the churchyard, was much appreciated. The evening meal was outstanding, top-quality cooking in the French tradition, and breakfast was good too. No complaints whatsoever. We would love to return. Painswick is a Cotswold gem, and the Falco makes a convenient base for a visit to the unique restored Rococo garden at Painswick House.

Lesley, Emile and Sean and their two additions were absolutely incredible. So welcoming - just like staying with family and none of the downsides. 5 Stars all round - just 4 for location - and that's not down to them. Too many pubs closing down. Can't wait to see them all again in December. Love and hugs. Paula x
