The beautiful, half-timbered Bell is across the street from Tewkesbury Abbey. It has a friendly bar and restaurant and cozy bedrooms with attached bathroom, some offering views of the Abbey. I really enjoyed my stay. Hannah was so welcoming and I was so grateful as M5 had road closures and I ran way past the checking in time! Lovely bed, so pleased to have nice shower. In the morning a very hearty breakfast served by wonderful Eva. Helen was also so interesting to talk to and it meant such a lot that she new the place I was going to that day. It was the biggest breakfast I had ever had and it was delicious!!! I will never forget my stay at The Bell Hotel after such a long period of not going anywhere and I will never forget the welcoming staff. Would definitely want to come again and next time I will bring my husband.

This Georgian manor house set on the crest of a hill affords stunning 360 degree views of the surrounding area and has an indoor pool and a gym. The room was very clean with a lovely view of the garden. All the facalities were there that we needed and the bed was very comfortable. We had stayed before so we knew what to expect. The staff were very efficient and friendly and the food was excellent including the breakfast. We had Afternoon Tea on the terrace which again was excellent. Very stringent measures were in place with regard to cleanliness and social distancing making us feel perfectly safe in all environments. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.

We just stopped for a night before carrying on walking up the Severn Way. it is a pleasant town with a good selection of Restaurants and of course the renowned Abbey which is well worth a visit for splendid stained glass and architecture or for quiet contemplation.
It was a very hot two days. Fine. We had a room right near the noisy road. I asked to move to a room away from the road. I was told the hotel was fully booked. I was then told that because of a weekend event, that they had no cleaned rooms.
We were in Tewkesbury specifically for the half marathon but stayed a few days either side. It is a lovely town with a good mix of regular and independent shops, coffee shops and restaurants. The Abbey is, of course, beautiful and fascinating, and the surrounding countryside beautiful. The local people we enganged with were all really helpful and freindly. Travelling there and back was really easy as it's just off the M5. 20 mins across the M5 and we were in to Cheltenham too. I would definitely like to visit again, although would probably stay somewhere a little more luxourious.
Traditional style of High Street with some good cafe/tea rooms and 2 or 3 artisan shops, which offered fantastic products, if affordable, although the odd empty shop can bring the look of the area down as with so many places these days. Parking charges are very reasonable compared to other counties and I was very happy to pay the extra to be able to spend some time in the town without constantly looking at the watch. It's also very helpful to be able to move the car and still use the same ticket. Birmingham Council could learn something from Worcestershire as they have a much friendlier attitude to visitors. The Abbey is magnificent and should definitely be visited. There are a few walks to do through and close to the town, although the Severn Ham ( a sort of island on the other side of the river) may not be a good choice on blistering hot day as it is very open. Lots of places to go along the river and some lovely villages surrounding Tewkesbury as 2 days around the town is enough to see most things.
Interesting museums, lovely countryside, friendly, everyone wants to stop and chat. The tudor rose offers lovely meals in great setting, the lotus chinese takeaway ,great food. Easy to get about, lovely walks across the ham and by river, good bus routes.
Really nice old small town. Small enough to walk around & see most things in a day, but it is worth getting a guided tour to find out about the history of the town & buildings. The abbey is very impressive both inside & outside (with the added bonus of nesting peregrines this year). The John Moore museum is fascinating, though maybe too much information if you only have a passing interest in nature & conservation. I loved it & didn't have time to read everything.

We thought this was our best stay of several years of staying with booking.com hotels. Joan, our host, was so welcoming, attentive and helpful ... Jessop house is modern, wonderfully modernised within interesting 400 year old walls ... all within the 1000 year history of Tewkesbury (The Abbey is opposite Jessop house - good views). Wonderful bathroom - generous hot water - perfect WiFi (booster provided) - personal choice of breakfast - good qualities, great variety. Thank you so much.

River Cottage was an absolute delight to stay in. It was only a few minutes walk into the town centre which had an excellent choice of pubs and restaurants on offer. Tewkesbury was a lovely place to visit and very dog friendly. The Cottage was very comfortable and the hosts had left us milk, bread and a selection of local goodies. It was very well equipped with all we needed to enjoy our stay.
The hotel is very well located in the center of town, easy walk to the High St and Abbey. The outdoor sitting area for the bar is very spacious and comfortable. The hotel staff were pleasant, bar staff were efficient but not overly friendly. Room was very clean and had decent amenities.
Lovely period hotel in great location for shops and bars, free parking on site and good quality breakfast. The room was spacious with tea/coffee making facility and the en suite had a bath which was welcome. Sensible check out time of 11am was appreciated
The staff were lovely, the hotel was on beautiful grounds, comfortable beds, and the swimming pool was just lovely. The bar is also really nice, especially sitting outside on the courtyard with a drink.
room spacious, location in centre of town . no breakfast. has a bar which is open to public , its basically a pub join on to hotel. .parking was a problem. they have there own carpark but was full.
