Small town with some basic amenities, Small shops, chemists, coffee shops and takeaways. It is nestled at the bottom of a beautiful hillscape that goes on for miles. Their is a shopping outlet village just on the outskirts. 10 min drive from Alloa which has all the big supermarkets and other amenities. 20 mins drive gets you to Stirling, nice city with lots to do. Lodge provides everything you’ll need and the under floor heating makes it super cosy even in mid February 😁 lovely path down the side of the lodges, taking you onto a walkway which goes in both directions towards Dollar and Tillicoultry. Which was very clean also we decorated. The provision of tea/ coffee biscuits was welcome . The quality of the food was excellent from the Chinese restaurant. The location in Tillicoultry Falkirk is very good for the Kelpies and the Falkirk wheel.The hotel part is being updated when time allows . Parking is no problem. It is an excellent location for traveling in the Lowlands, but we also visited Loch Ness. Right in Tillicoultry, you can go for a walk in the countryside.
