The beach and parade is nice.

The beach and parade is nice. At night the ever changing colourful chain of lights along the whole length of bay is mesmerising and adds to flair. Like many towns some shops are closed and makes area look desolated. Lots of restaurants near beach. Good bus connections. Torre Abbey museum is worth a visit. Lots of spas in hotels to choose from.

Excellent resort with lots of good food places to eat and a nice location along with good entertainment options. Easy rail links and good accessibility by road as an alternative. Many beaches within easy reach and Dartmoor a short trip away.

We stayed in Torquay to visit the football ground and staying in the harbour area was only a 20-25 minute walk away, though uphill, from the ground. Would definitely recommend a trip to Plainmoor stadium, their hospitality was excellent value and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We met some fellow supporters who were visiting the drinking establishments afterwards and Torquay has plenty, including a Wetherspoons. The town is also well connected with a train station and frequent buses that take you throughout The Riviera. We stayed in Torquay for a reason(football) but the town is past it’s glory days and I would chose(for a general holiday), the charm of Brixham or for families(who don’t like the tackiness of Paignton), the delightful suburb of Goodrington (great beach). The excellent no 12 bus service covers all these areas so you would still be free to explore the other areas of The Riviera, without a car, if that was your wish.

Lovely seaside town with plenty to see.

Lovely seaside town with plenty to see. Locals as we wandered the streets were very friendly and welcoming. Great restaurants with views of the seaside. We ate at Las Iguanas and it was fabulous - the food was delicious, drinks perfect and the staff were all just fabulous.

Lovely seaside location. Some great restaurants.

Lovely seaside location. Some great restaurants. Would recommend the boat trip to one of the nearby towns. Promenade is great however, the High Street is a bit depressing. Saw a lot of drug abuse there in broad daylight, police and a man passed out on the street. All a bit bleak.

The hotel is so beautiful and located in a lovely part of torquay with easy access to restaurants and the marina. The spa is immaculate and facilities were top notch. When we arrived we were greeted by a duty manager named Leo and it was honestly the best welcome after a long drive. I arranged a bottle of fizz for our room to celebrate a birthday and Leo had it all arranged nicely in the room just before we arrived. Big kudos to him for his impeccable customer service.

This is the best small hotel we have stayed at in England! We will definitely be back. Lovely comfy bed, great decoration and ample storage. The shower room was compact but extremely clean and tidy. The towels are great quality and a good size. Home made fudge, sweets and Netflix on the TV. The breakfast choices were many and the quality of the locally sourced items was very good. A great tasty breakfast!

Liked all, considering the hotel has only just been purchased by a n other, and from what I heard, major problems for them this summer with ‘problems’ they inherited. We had a lovely swim and hot tub Saturday afternoon, gt sleep and v good breakfast before we left. We will return if we have a n other occasion in Torquay that requires our need to stay over. Many thanks. Excellent location.
