Rock Cottage is set in Edinburgh, 11 km from Arthurs Seat and 12 km from Royal Yacht Britannia, in an area where skiing can be enjoyed. Fantastic location right next to the sea, with a brilliant view from the lounge across the Firth of Forth. Nicely furnished and decorated, and loads of space. A really quirky building with lots of character. Handy for shops and a good base to explore the area from. Train into Edinburgh every hour and only takes 15 minutes or so. We had some really good fish and chips from a shop a few yards down the road.
Situated beside Port Seton harbour, The Store, harbour holiday cottage offers a modern apartment with free Wi-Fi and free on-site parking. We loved the location, easy to travel in to Edinburgh by car or train. We enjoyed some chilly walks with our Labrador. The fresh coffee, milk and home-made shortbread are a nice touch. Overall a relaxing stay😎
Around 10 miles east of Edinburgh city centre, the 14th-century castle on Faside Estate provides luxurious bed and breakfast accommodation. The uniqueness and beauty of Fa’side is indescribable. The views are staggering and having the castle to ourselves made it an experience we will never forget!
Easy access from major routes set in private grounds. Beautiful room very friendly and helpful proprietors. whose local restaurant is well worth a visit. If your looking for a short break to recharge the batteries then I cannot recommend Aldniston enough.
it is a lovely place and we have stayed the second time. They are fabulous hosts, very helpful, the breakfast is plentyfull and very good including extras, e.g. fresh figs. We stayed with our dog in on of the annexe rooms, which are very spacious including a lovely sitting area and an extra room for luggage, dog food etc. There are several outdoor sitting areas including your own table and two chairs outside your room - cushions are provided. Although it was summer, the evenings were chilly and the heating worked very well. It is very quite despite being beside a farm. We will definitely be back.
An interesting place - easy to get to other places. Train station easy to get to and not too far away by car - 15mins journey to Edinburgh on train. Evening meals at Longniddry In - food was excellent & good value for money.
