Amidst the scenery of the Lake District, this family-run bed and breakfast provides rooms with free Wi-Fi and views of the fells. The BnB was everything I needed it to be. It was clean, friendly, comfortable, good value and relaxing. The breakfast was simple and delicious. The staff were helpful and welcoming. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Stopped here with two dogs to break a long drive. Not far off motorway and it’s a nice old building. Room was pleasant but would have been a bit of a squash for two. There is no sitting room so would have been a bit confining if there for a longer stay. If planning to eat there in the evening you need to book ahead. I didn’t and couldn’t get a meal. Troutbeck is barely a village surrounded by stunning scenery just off the Keswick road ( which was quite noisy). Pleasant front of house staff ( there was only one). Easy location if you wanted to see more of the area.
Right on a main road so very noisy. I’d booked to eat in the pub well in advance, but they told me when I got there they weren’t doing food on the Monday/Tuesday night. The pub’s garden is in the car park. If you’re only going to sleep in Troutbeck then there are friendly good value options. A good base location for the northern wainwright’s if you only need a base.
Stunning place, beautiful scenery and plenty of walks to experience all around. If you enjoy nature and walking, you'll love it in Troutbeck. There are several pubs that offer food nearby, I would recommend the Troutbeck Inn for food, although it might be worth booking if you're a larger group. Staff are friendly and food is great. Aira Force Waterfall is also nearby.
We were in the area for a break after a long time having to stay at home because of the Covid 19 virus, We chose the area as a start to going further into the Lake district , as we hadnt been there for a long time, The pleasures of the area are to numerous to put down, but all I can say is that everywhere that we went to and stayed was very enjoyable and made us feel really welcome and made us look towards coming back again at some stage in the future
Dean was a great host and was very knowledgeable about the area. Food and accommodation were excellent. It is an excellent location for touring the Lakes, Yorkshire and Southern Scotland. I was on a motor bike and it was kept safely behind the house. There is a good pub across the road for an evening meal. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.
Lovely, restful stay at the Netherdene. It's a great location to tour the lakes and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts...great walking 3miles down the road, including the lake l, an amazing waterfall and beautiful fells...

Really friendly owner Dean went out of his way to make sure we had a good stay. Even letting us know to book a table at the pub across the road(the Troutbeck inn) as they took reservations only for in door eating Breakfast was wonderful we had yoghurt and museli, fresh orange juice pot of tea and poached eggs and kippers with toast Lovely place to stay would recommend
Troutbeck
The hotel adhered to government guidelines with regards Covid-19, so felt very safe. The breakfast was plentiful and in the evening the 'Steak & Ale Pie' was recommended to us by another guest - which certainly didn't disappoint!!
