The area is great for the outdoors. The coast is brilliant and we visited some truly delightful gardens in St Mawes and Trelissick. The grounds of the church at St Just in Roseland was a revelation. Actually, we mainly came for the kids to learn sailing at Roseland Paddle and Sails, which they did; but we got much more than that.
Steeped in history, well centrally located in Cornwall this charming city has a varied and intriguing shopping experience with unusual and delightful, cafes, restaurants and bars. Some are beautifully quirky, but high quality. Even a stunning vegan bistro with yoga classes above.
A good centre for visiting other parts of Cornwall, a good selection of places to eat, historic buildings, very good selection of shops, bus station in the centre of the city, good bus and rail links. Lovely riverside walks. Always enjoy looking round the Cathedral and exploring the old back streets. Interesting museum to while away some time.
Truro is a small and attractive city and friendly with an excellent bus service to the rest of Cornwall Lots of history and old buildings also good places to eat Beautiful Cathedral Regular Markets on Lemon quay Cinema Hall for Cornwall due to open soon
Trenona Farm is some way out of Truro (it comes under Truro postal jurisdiction, so I guess that's why it's listed as Truro). It's actually nearest to Ruanhighlanes, not far from the former fishing village of Portscatho (where my relative lives who we were visiting) and a bit further on is St Mawes which has hotels, restaurants and shops, plus a foot ferry link to Falmouth across the estuary. St Mawes is worth a visit, as is the trip over to Falmouth for great art galleries and shops. There are several good pubs for evening meals a short drive from Trenona Farm: The New Inn at Veryan, The King's Head at Ruan Lanihorne, The Roseland Inn at Philleigh, plus several restaurants at St Mawes. It's wise to book ahead at the moment, as social distancing is currently allowing fewer customers.
Seemed a very friendly city. Good variety of restaurants although booking recommended. Excellent pubs especially The Old Ale House great character. Only downside was traffic congestion particularly on A39 and A390.

Our host Ben could not have been more welcoming. We enjoyed 3 different breakfast choices and all were extremely well prepared and delicious. The location works well for visiting all points of Cornwall. We used it for our base of operation. The guest rooms and common areas are extremely well appointed with high end finishes. The renovation was specifically for a B&B and it shows. This is by far the best B&B experience I have ever had.

As soon aswe entered Maple Barn we felt at home the cottage was spotlessly clean From the top quality furnishing to the well stocked kitchen crockety and utensils everything was top class. The cottage was in a beautiful area and well placed for discovering the best of Cornwall. Sally was lovely too. I couldn't think of a better way to spend our first holiday after 14 weeks of lockdown

The barn was recently converted to a beautiful home, to very high standards and with exquisite good taste. It would be ideal for a holiday with grandparents, as one bedroom (in-suite) is in one side of the barn, opposite to the other two bedrooms, so no issues with nap-times, etc. Location is great to visit several sites around Cornwall.

Our 4-night stay was fantastic, the location is perfect, within walking distance to town and Truro itself is a good base for discovering Cornwall, as nothing was too far from there. The room was lovely and sparkling clean with a huge, comfortable bed.
The room was comfortable, the bathroom was beautiful, the breakfast was good and the staff were couteous, helpful and friendly. The car park was secure and the hotel was plumb centre of Truro. Really good place to stay and I will use again.

Location. Truro is well positioned to travel about Cornwall and the Hotel is well placed to walk into town which has a variety of shops for the size of the place.
The room was basic but clean with a comfy bed. The best part was the staff (downstairs) - they were super nice and helpful when the heated went a bit rogue!

Very nicely decorated and equipped cottage in a quiet area. Nice environment with trees, flowers ( daffodils and camélias) and a pond. A really relaxing stay in a beautiful region surrounded by the sea. Best places, we have visited , thanks to Vanda’s advice were: Trelissicks gardens and manor, Kynance cove , Land’s end, the coastal road between Land’s end and St Ives etc...
