Very friendly welcome with tea and cake. The accommodation is separate from the house and is like a suite: with small sitting room, bedroom and bathroom looking out onto garden. Bed extremely comfortable, breakfast exceptional. We were walking on SW Coastal path: an easy connection down to Porthloe. Also good bus connection to Veryan or Porthloe if starting a section as we were. Lovely stay...thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful cathedral- transports you to a peaceful haven. Shopping area very mixed - independent shops, higher end and not so ! Parking limited in town Not too far to coast and a fabulous massive Waitrose out of the town centre!
The capital of Cornwall contains a beautiful cathedral a nice mixture of shops with good choice of restaurants and cafés to suit most . The park and ride bus service is very useful Takes you from the outskirts to the city centre in approximately 6 minutes. Much of the city is pedestrianised. The imposing granite footpaths are a little rough but built to last . Please try to make some time for yourself and enjoy a tea or coffee in the Cathedral café . There is often various exciting events happening in the cathedral. The Cornwall Hall also has a good mixture of live performances. Lots to do so little time
Truro is a small but busy town boasting an impressive Cathedral and well provided with shops and amenieties. There are good public transport links and is ideally suited to explore the tip of Cornwall. We used a car but other guests used the train network and got to St Michael's Mount and St Ives.
A great location to use as a base to see the Cornwall area. Be aware of the limitations for parking in the city. Signs are confusing to a tourist and the city does not make it convenient to use local businesses ( e.g. laundry facilities) as there is limited to no parking around these businesses. Fines are steep!
I enjoyed the cathedral but the rest of the town had a rather sad run down feeling about it. Probably not ideal visiting on a grey day in January. However the tourist info centre were very helpful and I enjoyed the heritage walk.
Truro is extremely well situated to tour Cornwall. Quite a big town with all essentials provided. Lots of eating places. Elegant houses are a beautiful backdrop. Surrounded by historical sites and other visitor attractions such as Trelissick Gardens, the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Tintagel with the famous bronze statue of King Arthur. Too many to mention. Superb steak meal at Longstore, just a short walk from where we stayed. Definitely will return making Truro a base to visit charming coastal villages.
