Lovely spot though hard to find. Beautiful gardens, very well appointed house. Breakfasts very good with nice adjustment to my dietary needs. I enjoy the big table breakfast so we can chat and share with other guests. Thanks for the loan of the local maps and the dinner recommendations.

Pengelly Farmhouse met and exceeded our expectations. The warm welcome from Ben, the spacious spotless room, the excellent, freshly cooked, breakfast all contributed to making our stay so enjoyable. The instructions sent prior to our stay made finding the farmhouse easy despite arriving in the dark. Plenty of parking. Very sociable host who gave us good advice.

Very welcoming pam was really nice and made us feel very welcome, and at home, accommodation very clean and comfortable and really looked after us by providing a really comfortable bed and everything we needed including fresh milk and goodies, our bed was made every day, fresh clean towels and room and bathroom cleaned every day, really enjoyed our stay, location was really good and would like to stay again in future 🙂

    Apart from the cathedral there was not much else .

    Apart from the cathedral there was not much else . We had based ourselves in Truro to visit Tresillik National Trust which in spite of being in great location was rather dissappointing having visited Lanhydrock earlier in the day which was superb. The house in Tressilick was very limited and appeared to be mainly used in lieu of the more usual excellent NT restaurant.

    The Rising Sun pub excellent food , pretty pub great staff and tucked away location. The Tugboat coffee shop . But really u less you have to go don’t bother . It’s full of hairdressers and Turkish Batbers and all rather sad

    We like Truro and been there a few times, good shopping centres with good amenities, as with any town there are always the town idiots which can let the place down, apart from that will be staying again .its also good for access to seaside places.

    There is not huge amount to do or see in Truro.

    There is not huge amount to do or see in Truro. We came for the Cathedral, where the services and music are beautiful. Anyone not used to Seagulls in the (very) early morning should bring earplugs. Seagulls make noises like no other bird, and keep making them.

    Truro is a good centre for travelling to all destinations in Cornwall. Bus services are good during the day, infrequent after about 6pm but we found them to run exactly as per the timetable. Good views from upstairs. Trains are usually punctual from Penzance but variable from London. Thus, if you are using public transport, this is an excellent central point. Truro is vibrant by day and very quiet in the evenings. Good public toilets and Wetherspoons (of course).

    Truro is a lovely place to shop.

    Truro is a lovely place to shop. You must visit the Cathedral (include a guided tour) and the Hall for Cornwall. Excellent transport facilities for non drivers in coach/bus service and train services.

    exceptionally well stocked, clean, beautifully decorated and designed, supremely comfortable sofas and bed, great kitchen. it’s in a lovingly restored old house and gives off proper countryside vibes. it’s quite secluded, and nothing is really close - which doesn’t matter because that also means it’s located well and nothing is really far away. it’s an amazing location for a „base camp“ if you want to explore Cornwall. I simply cannot recommend this enough, it is probably one of if not the best stay we’ve ever had.
