Located in a gorgeous little village on the coast with a quaint tearoom and village stores. Perfect for walking the dog on the common. Hotel staff were just lovely, they brought our dog a cooked sausage at breakfast😊

We stayed in one of the "garden rooms". We needed disabled access, and the staff warned us that the bathroom shower might be difficult to use. But in every other respect, the hotel was comfortable and the service outstanding. We particularly enjoy the Southwold atmosphere - sometimes a bit faded, but always traditionally real in its Englishness.

Close to lots of great sites for Bird Watching and walking.

Close to lots of great sites for Bird Watching and walking. Snape Maltings, Thorpness, Aldeburgh and Southwold all just a short drive. Small shop in village and an excellent farm shop just a mile away. Westleton Crown, Eels Foot Eastbridge and White Hart at Blythburgh all nearby and great for food

Two good "used" bookshops to visit; a tea-room;

Two good "used" bookshops to visit; a tea-room; Close proximity to the A12 for travelling north (to Blythburgh, Bungay and Southwold) and south for access to Aldeburgh and Snape. We didn't visit Minsmere on our recent visit but have done so previously.

Pretty village, beautiful country all around.

Pretty village, beautiful country all around. You'll need a car if you want to travel around it (only the occasional bus passes through - there is no timetable), but, as in my case anyway, you won't need to.

Westleton is a charming village with many tourist locations...

Westleton is a charming village with many tourist locations nearby. Ate at local pubs. Dunwich beach cafe particularly good. Lots of walks but car needed for elsewhere. I would not stay at Briar Cottage again. I cannot believe the price charged for such poor accomodation.

Quaint village with lovely cottages and gardens.

Quaint village with lovely cottages and gardens. Unspoint by modernity. Great village shop and pubs. Tearooms, galleries, bookshops, village green. Windy lanes and spectacular National Nature Reserve wih rare plants and bird life and animals. Perfect for relaxing and getting away from it all. An unhurried way of life.

it is a very pretty village.

it is a very pretty village. It has a tearoom and a very efficient well stocked little shop. We walked to Dunwich and back and there are different walks in most directions from the village. The Crown was busy but very welcoming. We ate at the Crown the first evening and at The Ship at Dunwich the second evening, We love both places even though they have such different atmospheres. Westleton is well placed for a drive to Southwold or Walberswick one way or Aldeburgh the other and is a bird watchers dream location, I would guess.

self catering apartment which is lovely , right in the heart of westleton , just 5 minutes from local pub , the owners also own the fox inn at darsham which also serves fantastic food and just a five minute driveway , barbara and philip are always charming hosts , we have been here for 4 straight years now and will definitely be back next year .

We chose this property to be close to nearby Westleton and Dunwich Heaths and Minsmere bird reserve. It's also within easy reach of lots of lovely walks and places to visit. It's in a quiet location in a wonderful village and you can even hear nightingales singing from the house at the right time of year

Warm welcome. Breakfast superb. Sitting in the conservatory overlooking a delightful little garden and watching/listening to birds. This was a special treat for flat-dwellers. Having facilities to make (heat up!) meals. Decor of room. Proximity to Westleton Common.

The property is as per the pictures - clean, tidy, plenty of kitchen equipment, and cosy sofas. The bathroom is nice. Westleton is a lovely village and we enjoyed the local pub which is a short walk from the cottage.

Lovely friendly hotel. Staff really friendly & helpful. Food was amazing. The room was beautiful. Had a roll top bath as well as a shower. Really enjoyed our stay.
