I was on a walking holiday and was using Weston as my base. If you enjoy walking then the walk from Weston to Uphill and then through the nature reserve to Brean. Down onto the beach at Brean and you can walk through to Burnham on Sea. Lovely walk. The nature reserve is well worth a visit. Lots of wildlife and plenty of space for a picnic. There is also a cafe and toilets there. Uphill is a pretty little village.

The museum is worth a visit, with a wealth of interesting exhibits about the town. Also, the architecture is amazing, with wonderful Georgian/Regency terraces. I would say it beats Bath, without the throngs of tourists and prices. Pity about the bus service, with many not running on a Sunday. I wanted to have a look at Clevedon.

This town has a theatre the Playhouse with lots of shows music venues ecc. There are some nice walks to do along the beach or you can take many buses and reach the villages near by and walk back to town. A lot of choice for restaurant of any type from Italian (i have not tried but I would suggest Michelangelo) to Indian Fusion Thai cinese Brasilian ecc there is the Grand Pier too. I had a nice hallumi burger at The Barn but there is also a good fish and chips serving veg food opposte the Grand Pier. For people that have to fly like me it is somewhat cheaper to stay here than in Bristol and you can either take a taxi or a bus every hour even at night

Our accommodation was great, and getting there on train was no problem at all. Everything is pretty central so you don't need a car, even if you want to venture further afield there is a good bus service to various destinations along the coast, inland and further afield ( Bristol for example ). The town itself like many British coastal resorts is a bit of a mixed bag. There are plenty of shops, cafes, and eateries some more well kept and maintained than others. The pubs and bars likewise but there is pretty well something for everyone. There are a lot of youths and homeless about in the evenings and a distinct lack of police so it can feel a little intimidating but basically it was pretty safe.

Situated on the seafront in the heart of the resort the hotel is a fine example of mid-Victorian gothic architecture. It was once part of the Trust House Forte chain and appears to have retained many of the fine traditions of that organisation with regard to an empahsis on hospitality and good service. I can thoroughly recommend the dining arrangements which were very well organised. The service by restaurant staff was as friendly and efficient as I have ever experienced, and the quality of the menu offerings and their price was remarkable.
Did not have breakfast with the cost of the room it should have been included when we arrived which was way before check in time we asked if we could stay 2 nights instead of the booked one nights but were told that the following day you only had a single and a family room available when we did check in we were given a family room anyway? The next day we then moved to another lovely hotel on the front also with a room far more suited to a couple with free entertainment on the evening and at £35 cheaper than you included a lovely breakfast
Old school B&B perfect for pre-breakfast seafront walks followed by a generous cooked breakfast. If you are looking to rekindle your childhood, this is the spot.
The location is a lovely walk along the seafront and far enough from the centre that you can simply enjoy the sound of the sea.
The staff are all incredibly friendly.
Lots of the guests during my stay had mobility issues, obviously check with the hotel before you stay, but it seems that they are well prepared in terms of access and parking was available directly in front.
I was worried it was going to be rubbish at the price, but ok for a couple of nights business trip. BUT staff were brilliantly helpful even though I arrived at nearly midnight. Room clean and well equipped, bed comfortable, everything worked. Breakfast excellent and cooked to order, including toast. It's a mark of a good hotel when they don't expect you to grill your own toast - large chains take note of this.
60 seconds from seafront made it even better.
Fantastic location on seafront. Very clean and comfortable room. The bed was lovely and there was a good hot shower. I had everything I needed for my stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was given great recommendations for dining out as the hotel kitchen was closed due to the chef being off sick. I would have loved to have tried the breakfast as the hotel has a fantastic reputation for breakfast. I can't reccomend it more highly.
Location right on the seafront, room had everything I needed. Bar downstairs with Sky, free WiFi. Didn't do meals but there was a bar/restaurant/hotel next door. Friendly, helpful staff and I was allowed to use the lift for one person as I am partially disabled and my room was on the 2nd floor. Plenty of tea, coffee stuff even though I was only staying one night.
Very warm welcome from lady on reception very friendly and helpful and enjoyed welcome drink. Beautiful room with lovely sea view and very clean. Hotel is in a very nice location with pleasant walk along the seafront. Breakfast was delicious and gluten free as requested.
Superb Hotel, high quality furnishings and decor, spotlessly clean and quiet, spacious car parking, short walk to the seafront, excellent choice of breakfast and very well cooked.
Last but not least ; lovely hosts and staff .
I got 2 fairly good nights' sleep with no disturbance from other guests etc and the bed was comfortable. Had an unexpected view of Weston seafront, I thought I would be at the back of the hotel so that was a plus also.
Whats not to like at the Lauriston Hotel ? We stay here quite often & are never disappointed. The location is spot on for our needs & the hotel staff are lovely. Its just a lovely place to stay.
On arrival we were given a choice of rooms. The breakfasts were good using good quality products . Andrew & the staff were all very helpful. we would definitely recommend this Hotel.
We were instantly upgraded to a sea view room which was great. Hotel was situated in a perfect seafront spot. Meals were well presented, tasty, and good value.
Lovely old hotel in a fab seafront location. Large, bright & clean room. Brilliant buffet breakfast with lots of choice. Staff friendly, helpful & welcoming.
