Located in Wheddon Cross, 22 mi from Barry, Exmoor House provides a tennis court and free WiFi. We had a lovely stay Terri and Austin were very friendly and accommodating, we felt covid safe but still had all the luxuries. A lovely and locally sourced English breakfast, we would happily stay again.
Great location for visiting Exmoor and surrounding locations, lots to do and see, plenty of walking, lots of nice pubs and tea rooms. Dunster beach is great for the dog, even in Summer, and Dunster town is lovely with the castle and some nice shops . Minehead is also close and we would recommend Withypool and Exford. Beautiful scenery and a walk up Dunkery Beacon is a must.
We have just stayed at Exmoor house and are really impressed! 10/10 for the wonderful hosts and 10/10 for our beautiful room! Wonderful breakfast and excellent service to go with it. Would 1000% recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area!! After staying in Premier Inn usually, we would definitely be going back to stay at Exmoor House! Thank you for such a lovely stay x
The property and surrounding area was amazing. We especially liked the huge glass doors/windows in the lounge which gave a spectacular view of the landscape. Lots of lovely walks available. The rooms in the house were big and beautifully furnished Closed in garden at the back good for the dog. Baby had lots of space to practice his new walking skills :-) . We went to the local pub .. ‘rest and be thankful’ for Sunday lunch . Delicious carvery . Worth a visit. Added a photo of the view from the house
There actually isn’t much at Whedon Cross apart from our B&B and the wonderful ‘Rest and be thankful Inn’ which had a superb carvery on the Sunday and excellent food the following night as well. It is very close to Dunkery Beacon which is the highest point in Exmoor and well worth the climb for the stunning views. You can see 7 counties from up there.
Great B and B . Excellent placement for Exmoor and coastal towns . Lovely owners, spotlesley clean and great localy produced breakfast. Private parking to the rear . Liked the little touch of a fridge in the room with fresh milk and cold water . Great pub accross the road doing lovely meals is a bonus . Definitely stay here again
