Penny Hedge, Whitby by Marston's Inns, hotel in Whitby

Located approximately 1.2 miles from Whitby Harbor and 1.6 miles from Whitby Abbey, Penny Hedge features a restaurant, bar and free WiFi throughout the property.

The room was ‘fine’ - the beds and bath were clean. Basic. What was great about the stay was the restaurant- the food was good, in particular the very generous breakfast.

White Horse & Griffin, hotel in Whitby

Set in a 17th-century building, this guest accommodations serves local, fresh seafood in its restaurant and has elegant rooms.

Staff were excellent. Friendly, helpful and attentive. We booked the room at the top of the hotel, we arrived early but were allowed to leave our luggage until check-in. Once checking in our hefty luggage had already been taken up to our room. Hotel, bar and restaurant are full of charm you'd expect from such a historic building. Central location couldnt be better and no issues with noise.

Whitby is such a great place to have a short summer break.

Whitby is such a great place to have a short summer break. Getting there from Newcastle airport was more than a 3-hour adventure. However, it was worth it in the end. The Abbey, 199 steps St. Marys and the little streets are picturesque, to say the least. The magpie cafe and the Fishermans wife are great places for fish and chips. We stayed in the town, and never needed a taxi at anytime, everything is within walking distance. We did travel on bus the 4 or five miles to Robin Hood's bay for one of the days, and to be honest this is must- as it so near.

We love Whitby, have been coming for years.

We love Whitby, have been coming for years. Hubby’s favourite fishing haunt! Still trying to find that elusive ground level apartment for two on church street! (We have tried many!) Best fish and chip shop in Whitby? Eskdale fisheries in sleights! (I think we have tried them all over many years!)

Lots of things to do and see. Plenty of choices for food and drink on both sides of the river. Bus service very good for visiting other local villages. Only downside - not much cleaning up after dogs - not nice

I liked that the hotel was situated on a cliff close to whitby beach, I liked that if you ring in advance you csn reserve a car park space with your name above it, I liked that our view was of the sea, the shower was amazing, the bed was comfortable, there were 3 points of interest on the doorstep, the view from the front of the hotel was stunning, the room was cleaned and everything was neat and tidy when we returned to our room on the second day of our stay

Great historic hotel very close to the sights in Whitby. Lovely spacious room with settee and four poster bed. Very friendly and helpful staff. We arrived early, parked the car in the hotel car park, then popped into the hotel reception to inform them. Room was already cleaned and ready, so we checked in. Great breakfast quality. Great tea & coffee facility in the room, Yorkshire Tea a real bonus.

The Resolution was an ideally placed hotel for Whitby, only 10 mins to the town centre. Lots of eateries and boutique shops round the hotel. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and we also stayed in for an evening meal - lots of choice!

Great apartment, spacious enough for the family of 4. Very comfortable with everything you may need. Clean. On the first floor with parking space, what seems to be a luxury in Whitby. Very close to the harbour, walking distance to most of the places.
