Located in the center of Whitby, the George Hotel has a lively bar with Sky Sports and BT Sport on large screens and several entertainment nights per week. The cleanliness of the room was fabulous. Great location. A little noisy at night but that’s because it’s above a pub snd it’s to be expected so no problems with that at all. Amazing breakfast.

Hotel in Whitby
This charming family-run hotel has a great restaurant and a wonderful, peaceful location on Whitby’s West Cliff, near the seafront and within walking distance of the town center. The Saxonville Hotel is a quaint, cozy hotel. Everything was perfectly clean and I had a great nights sleep. It’s a short walk from the beach and about a 25 mins walk to the Abbey. Staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Due to COVID, breakfast was handled differently for safety, but still very delicious. I would definitely recommend to others and would definitely stay again myself.

Great historical place, but not to my liking, very busy, expensive and a lot of fuss about very little Must eat at Magpie Cafe great food Others meals disappointed with including the famous fish and chips Shops full of tatt everywhere, bit rundown and old fashioned, done it now but wouldn't return
The walk up to the Abbey is well worth it beautiful views and a brewery at the top to refresh yourself. If you like seafood a trip to the fisherman's wife is well worth waiting in the cue the prawns and crayfish salad is amazing I asked for some crab aswell and they was happy to do so for very little money
Whitby is very picture postcard. A quaint and beautiful place. Worth travelling a little down the coast(Robin hoods Bay Scarborough etc). Parking is expensive especially if you're only staying for a short period to have a look around and then moving on. It's worth having a look at side roads as sometimes your in luck but whitby centre is all yellow lines.
Whitby is the perfect relaxing trip every year the george hotel perfect location staff in the george fantastic special mention for James very helpful at breakfast time thanks again see you next year 😀
Very traditional and interesting seaside town. Not great if you don’t like seagulls or chips. We were lucky with the weather - not sure it would be great if it wasn’t hot/sunny. Seemed like a really friendly town though. It’s great for walks.
Whitby is a charming town in North Yorkshire. It is quite hilly and I think you'd need a certain level of fitness, mind you I'm 59 and not super fit but I did ok. Slept very well though, probably at least partly as a result of all the exercise. If you like fish and chips, Whitby's definitely your spot; we counted around 15 fish bars! We did have fish and chips once (you kind of have to) and it was good. I'd recommend the Thai, 'Kamthai' where we had a really super meal. The Four Seasons and The Edge restaurants also fed us well. Lots of places do cocktails, so we did indulge a bit and the walk up the hill to our guesthouse felt much easier. A lovely place to visit.
Whitby
Swales Cottage is in a great location. Property was really clean on arrival. Lots of fresh towels provided. Kitchen equipment surpassed expectations. Lots of antibac/cleaning products/sanitiser in every room. Parking space is big enough to accomodate a large 4x4 which was something we were concerned about prior to arrival as parking can be tight in and around Whitby. Great communication throughout from the host.
Beautiful apartment with original wooden floors sash bay windows and plenty of space for 4 adults and a couple of little dogs, host even left some milk, tea and coffee for our arrival. Parking is a bit of a nightmare expected really in a busy seaside resort with parking restrictions, but there is plenty of space a 10 min walk away. Would 100% stay again if I was in whitby thank you
Whitby
Robin and Tanya were so friendly and welcoming. The room was exceptionally clean with the comfiest bed ever! We stayed in the Glaisdale room at the back and it was the best 2 nights sleep we have had in ages. Breakfast was delicious and all local produce cooked fresh to order. The walk into Whitby was lovely from the hotel and as it was out of the centre it felt safe with parking.
Staff very welcoming and friendly throughout stay. Food was well presented and always hot. Location is about a 30min walk to Whitby Harbour which we was aware off. There is a regular bus service from outside the hotel to the town centre and to Scarborough. We chose The Penny Hedge because it was one of the few hotels with on site parking. would use hotel again.
Whitby
Definitely the best holiday accommodation we have rented. The main living area is out of this world and perfect for my whole family to spend time together. Lovely quiet location with the benefit of a beautiful hotel next door and only 3 miles from the very busy Whitby harbour. Have paid a lot more for a lot less in the past!!!
Beautifully furnished, comfortable luxury hotel in great location. Lovely couple, Peter and Julie, happy to offer their extensive knowledge of Whitby to make your stay perfect and we looked forward to our daily catch ups with them. Highly recommended and would love to stay again.
Lovely little hotel in an ideal location- walking distance of Whitby harbour. We parked on the road outside and were given a scratch card to ensure free parking throughout our stay as the hotel car park was full. Helpful and friendly staff that are very welcoming!
Whitby
Just a short walk into town with free parking right behind the property gave us opportunities to explore Whitby easily. lots of nice small touches with bottled water, snacks for our arrival and fresh milk for our morning tea! Clean and comfortable and quiet.
Well presented hotel. Rooms were spotless and comfortable Breakfast was plenty and tasty Ideally located for all the attractions of Whitby Asked for flowers in one room due to special occasion and they were in a vase and waiting on arrival - thank you
The room was comfortable and spacious. Fabulous views over the harbour and the bar only a stroll downstairs! We had a full English breakfast in the morning to set us up for the day! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Whitby!
Whitby
Whitby itself. Enough room in the living room. Bathroom was way too compact, never seen a bathroom that small. Sink too small, couldn't move over it to brush teeth or have a wash because a glass shelf is right above it.
Whitby
Breakfast was excellent. Great choice of food. Well cooked and delicious. The dining room overlooked the harbour and the hosts spoke to all the guests and gave great information on where to go in Whitby.
Whitby
The hotel grounds are lovely and the location was perfect for us. 5 min taxi journey to Whitby Town and a lovely walk to Sandsend bay. All the staff were welcoming and the food was great too.
It was a really cosy and friendly space, that was clean and bright with lovely views across the harbour. The location was perfect for walking into Whitby town and the Abbey.

The location was perfect for me. Within walking distance of Robins Hood's Bay, and beside bus stops for both Whitby and Scarborough.
