Whitby is a place we have visited many times and always enjoyed however this visit disappointed us due to the amount of dog mess all over the streets, this was not expected and certainly not what we wanted while walking in a scenic city ,

Apart from the fact it was very cold when we stayed here (January) it is a lovely area and Whiby is a beautiful place. There are lots of good places to eat even in January. I would recommend "The Fisherman's Wife" - not cheap but superb food. Easy enough to walk around and watch out for one way streets when driving - got caught out by mistake. On steet parking in many areas is free until March.

Our hosts, Sandra & Ted, are an absolute delight. Friendly, welcoming & hospitable. Made us feel at home. Our room had a nautical theme and was rather quirky in its inclusions. We felt it was clean, spacious and comfortable. We were made to feel part of the family during our delicious breakfast. Parking was safe and straight outside the bottom gate. Whitby township is only a short walk away and contains numerous dinner options. Really enjoyed our second visit to this lovely B&B. Thank you.

Pete and the team couldn’t be more helpful. The venue is tucked away nicely in Egton which is just outside Whitby. The hotel is full of character which is a plus for us. It feels like a very homely comfortable country pub. The rooms are well presented and spacious. The bar and restaurant area has plenty of space, a good variety and the food was sublime. I don’t leave reviews usually but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be coming back. Would recommend to anyone!

Everything! The apartment was amazing, clean tidy, very comfortable bed, loads of space. Had a nice welcome package on the bed on arrival which even the biggest hotel chains don't do. We didn't hear anything from any other guests. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to go stay in whitby to stay here as its also in the perfect location as its only a 5 minute walk to the harbour/sea. Thank you so much for an amazing stay which made our get away so perfect

The Duke of York is at the bottom of the steps which go up to Whitby Abbey, at the end of cobbled church street, it's therefore nice and quiet. The room was accessed by a separate entrance adjacent to a small beach. It was spacious, very clean and had a view across the harbour. Tastefully decorated in teal blue with lovely cream brick tiles in the bathroom. Very comfortable and didn't feel like a room in a pub. Dog friendly too.

Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Room was spacious and the location was fantastic - around a 10 minute walk into town, minutes from the beach, public parking opposite the hotel at £9 for 24 hours. Whitby open air tour bus stopped outside (hop on/off service with history talks). Restaurant/cafe easily accessible. Rooms had gorgeous views. Fan & hairdryer provided in room.

The location is brilliant, only a ten minute walk into Robin Hood's Bay. The hotel is on a good bus route with buses every 30 minutes into Whitby and Scarborough. The breakfast is very good with locally sought produce. Good choice on the menu. The bar food is very good also, serving meals till 9.00pm. The staff are lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful and set in the heart of Whitby - the perfect location for the town and the harbour/beach. Our room was huge with a four poster bed and we had a complimentary bottle of Prosecco in the room as it was our honeymoon. The staff were very helpful and attentive and the breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

A perfect stay in a very comfortable and beautifully maintained cottage. An easy 5-10 minute level walk into the centre of Whitby via the harbourside. Great for viewing the passing trains (don't worry, there is less than one an hour, if they aren't your thing!). Lovely views across to the harbour and up to the Abbey.

Really good location for Whitby town center and attractions. The hot tub was fantastic and in a pretty garden - a really nice addition to our holiday. It was serviced daily by a lovely gent. The house look very recently renovated, it was spacious and the ensuite rooms had wonderfully comfortable beds.
