Was a bit worried after reading the reviews but we really couldn't complain for the price. The location has lovely grounds, bed was lovely and comfy, the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was nice too.
We had 2 dogs, and there is a £15 charge for each one. Staff were lovely with the dogs and gave them sausages for breakfast.

There is significant historical and cultural interest in Wigan, especially industrial architecture and the wonderful local museum and George Orwell library. The people are very friendly, talk to them! The town has suffered enormously from economic transition and the effects are still playing out. There are a few nice eateries and bars in Wigan but you have to seek them out. Go visit, the town needs you and you will learn a lot.

Wigan has always been a decent night out, we had arrived a little bit too late to go out into the city centre, so we decided to just get our head down and have an early-ish night, getting into the room, I noticed that somebody had been sick quite recently on the carpet of the room we were staying in as it still hadn’t been cleaned up, I would definitely think about not staying in that accommodation like this again

Very impressed with my first stay at a Greene King hotel which was better than the other two well known 'cheap' hotel chains. Exceptionally friendly staff, very clean and comfortable accommodation with ample free on-site parking. Excellent breakfast with full range of cereals, pastries, cold food, or a full English breakfast made fresh to order with friendly waitress.
Good bar and restaurant in adjoining building.
Buses to Wigan centre, Southport, and St. Helens stop right outside the hotel.
the hotel is beautiful set in a lovely quite area with scenic views and walks the staff was very friendly and the room was perfect, we enjoyed the jacuzzi, sauna and had a swim then had a lovely walk to the white lion for drinks and food made my birthday perfect.
Stayed here for work for 5 weeks running now, easy check in, free parking for hotel guests, quiet area but close to the main town. Rooms are spacious, very clean and beds are comfortable. Toiletries and tea/coffee/hot choc tray provided are really nice touches.
The staff were all excellent, very friendly and accommodating. There small spa area was fun too and the rooms were very clean. The hotel was pet friendly as well
Its a great Location. Rooms are all clean and tidy and great value for Money.
