Great location, handy for shops and restaurants but the rooms themselves are tucked away behind the pub so lovely and quiet. I had room 6. It was spotless, well maintained and the furniture and shower looked brand new. Bed was really comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. Staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly and the locals in the pub were a good bunch of all ages. The landlord, Dan, even took the time to have a chat with me to make sure my accomodation was okay. A great place to stay and I'll definitely use the Plough next time I'm in the area. Highly recommended.

This hotel was by far the best I ever stayed at. We took the superior king room and the fact that we had our own private outdoor area was the cherry on top

The room was nice and spacious. It has a bathtub. Free tea is available. I had a videocall in the morning. The internet worked really well. There is a restaurant on site. The location is beautiful, on a pedestrian street.

Used to be a separate town, but is now just a southern suburb of Leicester. Can't see any real reason to visit unless there are things you need to do nearby. Nearby Wigston is a little livelier, but not much!

Wigston has changed so much, I was born and bred there, so I have seen many changes over the years, coming back after 20 years made me feel sad, as most of what I remember has gone, I'm not a big fan of the changes, the area where we stayed, was land I used to play on as a child, far too many houses being built, far too much traffic, and, traffic calming, such a pity, but like most of the UK, its all going to pot, I see the Royal British legion that my father and uncles helped to start up, is now being sold off, the large house that is attached, was once a coaching house, the old skittle ally, which was the basement, had a beam with the initials SD carved in the wood, Sam Davenport a highway man who was caught and hung on Kilby Knob, I suppose it will all be demolished to make way for more houses, or some shop that isn't really needed

Wigston is a good place to visit, lots of shops and eateries. Travel out and you'll find some beautiful places to visit. Leicester itself is not a good place to visit, very run down, but the countryside is stunning. We have lived in this county for most of our lives, but moved away to North Wales so I come to Wigston to visit family.
