Winterborne Kingston is a charming and picturesque village, there is a shop in the Hotel/pub and thats about it. Is a good location though for exploring the surrounding countryside and not far from The Jurassic Coast.
It was a lovely and friendly place with very good food. The breakfast was fab. The inn was on a long lane but it was only a few miles from other towns and city's. It's 15 mins from monkey world which we were going to for my son's birthday. You need a car.
Definitely need to be driving here- not much in Winterbourne Kingston itself, but Bournemouth, Blandford and even Durdle Door are less than an hour’s drive away. We visited Bournemouth for a day before going to watch a movie at Tower Park near Poole, and spent another day visiting Lulworth cove and Durdle Door. Hada great time! *photos are of Durdle Door & Lulworth Cove*
The room we had was very comfortable and well appointed. Everything you could need was supplied including hairdryer, water in the fridge, tissues by the bedside, tea/coffee and toiletries - all restocked everyday. Yes the rooms are expensive for a B&B but they are definitely worth it. All brand new. The service from the staff in the bar and restaurant was also very good and the food excellent. Very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended. Will be back. Note they do not serve food in the restaurant on Sunday nights.
