The hotel ticks most of the boxes, but is a little tired and in need of some redecoration and deep cleaning in the pool and changing room areas. Overall staff were friendly and professional. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped, lovely king-sized bed was excellent and ensured a great night's sleep, a nice outlook over the allotments and a very quiet room.
The fact it had a pool and spa was the attraction for staying here, unfortunately the pool was cloudy, could not get in the jacuzzi as no time limit and people stayed in for very long periods of time. The steam room was broken , bedroom small and bed hard and uncomfortable
Enjoyed visit to Oxford and Ifgley running track and then very impressed with Blenheim Palace. We took a rover bus ticket which was extremely good value. Locals very helpful to find things and connecting buses.
A very lovely and pleasant quaint town with a lot of character and historic charm. Also a nice selection of restaurants. Had food at the family owned Thai restaurant across from the fleece and the food was lovely. It is a lovely place to stop over or in between your journey. Glad I was able to see it.
It was a good base. We visited Blenheim Palace, Bibury, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water, The Slaughters and Oxford. The weather could have been kinder but we chose the places where we could spend time inside on the worse days. All in all, a very enjoyable holiday.
Staff listening to our special dietary requirements and fulfilling them correctly. Had difficulty on first night when trying to access the room. Couldn't get key card to work. Apparently there was a special technique that we weren't using but we should have been instructed from the start.
