Without a sat-nav we spent a long time in the one-way system trying to find the hotel. We eventually received help from one of the library staff, and from then on it was easy to navigate around the town. Nice town, plenty of shops to browse, and pubs to choose from.
Good food and surrounds - BUT DON'T USE A CARD FOR PAYMENT! Appalling accounting - approx. £2,000.00 un-authorised payments taken over 4 cards, took near;y a week to get it refunded!!! What should have been a good break for 4 couples on a car trip to the area was ruined by the un-athorised payments taken from ALL our cards with NO APOLOGIES have been received from management! Managers excuse - difficult getting accounting to sort it out, but no difficulty in taking un-authorised payments from our cards!!! Recommend - NEVER USE A CARD, only use CASH!
Lovely town with some quaint shops. Wednesday we found lots shut so recommend going other days. Plenty of parking available. All shops we visited adhering to the C-19 policy. Harbour beautiful. Well worth a visit. A hidden jewel in Suffolks crown we would say.
Lovely river walk. Choice of pubs and restaurants in town. Well placed base to visit the Suffolk coast and countryside. Easy to walk around town and down to river. Nice bar/restaurant near station with lots of outside seating..
I liked everything about the place and was surprised as to how modern and comfortable it was at an extremely reasonable price for all that was provided. This has to be one of the best hotels I have every stayed.
Nearby seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold were well worth a visit. Found finding somewhere to eat in the evening difficult. It would have helped if the hotel had a list of local restaurants, opening times and recommendations.
