Nestled on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, the award-winning Barnabas House is an Edwardian home set on a quiet lane. Excellent room.....all the little things were thought of..breakfast (and breakfast room ) over the top..first place we have been in that you can see through to the kitchen....you know it’s top notch. Steve and Angela so very friendly. Steve helped us map out our route for the next day...very helpful. Would stay again in a heartbeat
This delightful little country house offers relaxed surroundings with many of the services of a hotel. We arrived late after a 6 hour journey as was still met by Amanda, with a warm welcome. Breakfast was great and quick. Bed was really comfy and totally enjoyed our stay.
The Old School offers luxurious and comfortable surroundings with many of the services of a small hotel or country house. Maxine was very welcoming, extremely knowledgeable about recommending places to visit etc. Food was excellent, rooms were spotless and well appointed. In all a lovely hub to explore the area from, especially as you have keys, so no constraint about arriving back at a certain time.
The Dartmoor Linhay is situated in Yelverton and offers a terrace. The accommodation is 33 km from Looe, and guests benefit from complimentary WiFi and private parking available on site. A wonderful cottage in the Dartmoor park. Extremely confortable, newly arranged and complete; the Owner was always available for support and suggestions (thank you!) The surrounding area is extremely quiet and good for bike and foot excursions. Perfect for a 4-person family or also for a couple looking for a romantic stay
Set in Yelverton in the Devon region, Driftwood Cottage features a patio and lake views. The accommodation is 23 km from Looe, and guests benefit from private parking available on site and free WiFi. This was a wonderful place to stay. The host went over and above to make us welcome. Lots of lovely flowers around the house, warm home cooked bread. Fresh farm eggs, fresh fruit and more. Beautiful scenery. An amazing place. Thanks.
Dartmoor Barn on North Hessary Tor is set in Yelverton. The accommodation is 47 km from Exeter. Location was amazing with views of Kings Tor and the quarry just a stones throw away. Sun sets to die for with the hot weather and we could not hear a pin drop, so quiet, just what we wanted. Thank you
It was a great location, the river is just down the road, great walks on your doorstep , very friendly. Very comfy and clean, delicious breakfast. We ate in the evening at a nearby pub recommended to us, it was spot on
The village of Buckland Monachorum is just outside Yelverton. Yelverton is no great shakes but Buckland Monachorum is a pretty village with a really good local pub serving pub food of a very high standard. During our stay, which was at the end of lockdown, the pub provided us with takeaway meals which was a real treat.
A beautiful unspoilt area offering great walking, beautiful landscapes and real pubs. We ate at the Plume of Feathers and were simply blown away at the menu and our dishes surpassed our expectations. The walking is great offering lots of options depending on the weather, ability and time available.
Unbeknown to us, our accommodation was cancelled, we arrived after 5 hours in the car and had consequently had nowhere to stay. This outfit is shambolic and disorganised, we will never use this site again and make a point of telling our friends too
My wife and I wanted to see part of Devon and not stay in a bigger center. I came across Barnabas house by luck, and what a good choice it was. Steve and Angela have a wonderful place. The room was spacious and there were several little nice touches that are added in that you wouldn’t expect from a B &B. Breakfast was awesome, and both Steve and Angela were very friendly, and helpful with helping us plan our route for the next day. Highly recommend.
The rooms are lovely and roomy. The breakfast are good, you will not be able to eat the rest of the day!! The staff are friendly and incredible helpful. The showers is lovely. No phone signal ( to be expected) but was able to use the inn's phone. The rooms are warm. The meals are tasty, fresh and well priced. The best thing is you walk aside and there is the moors. There is easy access to the moors and surrounding villages.
