Nice atmosphere, kind and friendly people, good restaurants, plenty of sunshine, clean water and lovely beach. Great food, kind staff in restaurants, almost everywhere we got compliment from the house fruit and raki.
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in late August 2023 celebrating our 25th Anniversary and we were upgraded for free to a suite (Room 805). We chose the all-inclusive package which included all meals in buffet style, as well as draft beer, house cocktails, and wine. Name brand alcohol was available for a fee. Plenty of Greek food as well as options for picky eaters. 2 pools, but only the upper one has a bar for all-inclusive. The bar at the ocean level swimming area is not all-inclusive. There is a bus that runs round trip from the hotel to the center of Heraklion about every 1 1/2 hours. We would definitely stay here again!
The beach is wonderful and swimming in the sea which was clean and calm was amazing. There’s great places to eat by the beach, great food not expensive.to rent a car is recommended as there’s fantastic places and beaches to discover.
Agia Pelagia is a great strip of beach compared to others we stayed at. Vibrant little town. Snorkeling is as good as it gets with those planks of seafloor, you'll gets crabs 10 or 15 species of fish and even octopi. Also for snorkeling do not miss Paliokastro next door, and beautiful beach.
We stayed one night to be close to the airport. The hotel was fine for us, quiet, small and close to the sea. Room was great, big bathroom and very comfy bed. The village is nothing to write home about and very dirty. Will not be back. You need nerves of steel to drive to the hotel. Rent the smallest car possible if you are going to this hotel.
A beautiful small village perfectly located for sunbathing and relaxation in a family-friendly atmosphere. The beaches are beautiful with good facilities and sports activities (scuba diving and boat charter, etc.) One remark - beaches are rather small and we went there outside of the high season.
Agia Pelagia
The Pennystella is a family run hotel and you can really feel a family welcome. The hosts are always available with helpful advice and recommendations. We regularly returned to the hotel's restaurant as the food was delicious and home made. The views from our studio and from the swimming pool area are magnificent. You're only 15 mins walk (walking slowly) from the beach where we enjoyed daily and nightly swims. We highly recommend Pennystella and Agia Pelagia: we had a wonderful family holiday! We will certainly return.
Agia Pelagia
Large rooms, swimming pool in hotel, VERY friendly and helpful hosts, traditional Greek simple breakfast (omelette, yoghurt with honey, tea, coffe, bread, marmalade, fresh orange juice), close to main beach, good location for walks through other interesting places and beaches, bus stop near 5min (use bus to out of the blue hotel from Heraklion), rooms cleaned every 2 days, towels included. Recommend to take quad safari after 6pm and (only sand) beach in Bali
Agia Pelagia
We stayed for 5 days, and had a brilliant time. The location was perfect for exploring Heraklion side of Crete and easy to drive to Ammoudara, Rethmynon, Agia Pelagia. George and his family were so welcoming and lovely, nothing was too much to ask. They picked us up with the car we hired at midnight and dropped us off at the airport at 3:30am in the morning without extra charge for the car hire! We loved the pool and pool area.
Agia Pelagia
The host was very pleasant and accommodating. We had a great stay! The bed is very large, and there are extra pillows in the wardrobe. The apartment was very clean, had a great AC, and the best part was the huge terrace. It is located about 3/4 minutes of walking from the beach. I would definitely recommend staying here, if you are coming to Agia Pelagia. It is definitely a great value for money.
Arguably the best stay in Agia Pelagia. The hotel is great, the people are all super nice and ready to help with everything, the view is out of this world and the FOOD is unbelievable! The hotel also owns the cutest restaurant where the food is delicious, great value, and super nice decoration, far from the tourist-traps of the city center. You should 100% book here.
Agia Pelagia
Ended up booking late as plans changed, what a find! Unique and unforgettable experience, charming villa in a stunning location with the beach, waves, and a buzzing seaside waterfront literally on your door step. We wish we had longer. Yvonne is a wonderful welcoming host and we will make this the main stop in Crete next time.
Agia Pelagia
The location can’t be beat - it was like a dream. Steps away from umbrella lined beaches with endless restaurants and markets and stores that had everything we needed. The property itself was clean and the staff was incredibly friendly. Our beautiful patio stepped out to the pathway that takes you down to the beach. Perfect.
Agia Pelagia
I liked the rustic look and beautiful location. It is set high above the sea amongst an olive orchard. The staff was excellent. I don't know the caretaker's name but he was so kind and friiendly. The beaches nearby are spectacular. Very good restaurants of varying prices nearby too.
Agia Pelagia
Great base for exporting Crete! Large, beautifully decorated apartment with everything you might need. Amazing outdoor space with playground for kids and swimming pool and sun-lounges for everyone. We appreciated the quiet neighborhood and the privacy. Would love to return.
Agia Pelagia
Right at the beach. Beautiful view. very comfortable. I loved the balcony and family room. We had a big dining table and large couches to watch tv together. i really like this beach. It’s not too crowded and the waves are really nice. Good restaurants nearby
The location is superb, right on the beach, with lots of restaurants and cafes right outside. Manilos the owner is the friendliest and kindest host ever! The most clean place I've visited. Very recommended!
Agia Pelagia
We liked the nice welcome with fresh limonade, the beautiful breakfasts and the location right next to the beach of Agia Pelagia and central in Crete. The kids also enjoyed the swimming pool.
