Iokasti Villa is located in Atsipopoulo, 7 km from Rethymno Town. It features barbecue facilities, a garden, sea views and free WiFi throughout the property. What a villa!!! The villa is gorgeous, new, clean, with every comfort. The privacy is fantastic!!! There is nothing and nobody around!!! It's situated 1 minutes by car from the little village of Atsipopoulo; here you can find markets, tavernas, backery and take away gyros and souvlaky. The Villa is 5/10 minutes by car from the center of old Rethimo full of restaurants, tavernas and shops. You Need 30/40 minutes by car for the fantastic beaches on the center/sud of the Island and 15 minutes for the beach on the last part of Rethimo, much more quite than the beaches in the center (we never went there). Litsa, Dimitri and their family were so kind and available for every question or need. Really special persons! A fantastic week!!! Sure we will come back in the future.
Located in Atsipopoulo Village, Diktamos Villas feature a shared outdoor pool surrounded by a furnished sun terrace and a blossomed garden. The hospitality and welcome of the hosts, Maria and Kostas, was above and beyond. We had difficulty locating the property as our sat nav didn't work. It was dark, and difficult to read street names. However, a very friendly local woman could see we had a problem, and phoned Kostas, who came out on a scooter to lead the way for us.. The hosts were very generous and helpful. The villas are in a small village, just 4km from Rethymnon old town. It was a peaceful environment to relax and chill out. A short drive into Rethymnon was easy if you wanted some biz. Best of both worlds. The villa was well equipped, and everything you needed was available. Plenty of shops for everyday needs, including Chemist. We sometimes, usually lunch, ate in Rethymnon where there were restaurants a plenty. Often we made simple meals in the villa, and even had one carry out locally, which was of good quality. Would definitely recommend these villas, especially for the more mature couple.
Featuring a private pool with sun terrace, the stone-built Atsipopoulo Villas is located in Atsipopoulo Village. George was awesome! He was super accommodating and allowed us to stay in one of the villas until our 8pm flight. I would highly recommend trying the home cooked authentic meal as many I traveled with thought it was the highlight of the trip!
Boasting an outdoor pool, the family-run Calergi Residence is located at a hill in Atsipopoulo Village, overlooking Rethymno Town. recently been there, it is a wonderful place to have a nice holiday. We were received very hospitable. The apartment is perfect. we enjoyed our time there
Featuring accommodation with a private pool, pool view and a patio, Villa Camellia is set in Atsipopoulo. Peaceful area. Own private pool. Kids just loved it. Own private garden with grill. Outside shower is good extra. Cooling machines in every room. Owner was helpful and friendly. Close enough to Rethymnon city. Small supermarket and few good local tavernas nearby.
Set in Atsipopoulo, 20 km from Georgioupolis, Cretan Dream Apartments offers a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and free WiFi. Everything that one may need for living was provided. Well-equipped kitchen, washing machine, shower, air conditioner and very good WI-FI. Wi-Fi connection was excellent. We have visited several other apartments in Crete and it was the best. The host was friendly and recommended the best places to eat and visit.
Really pretty and interesting village. We had a lovely day just wandering around and exploring. Really interesting architecture. Excellent supermarket and bakery and two very good tavernas that we tried.
Venetian village with some interesting buildings and welcoming locals. We enjoyed food at the local Tavernas. It would be difficult for people with disabilities as the streets are quite steep and vehicular access is limited.
Manolis Taverna was excellent. Very friendly taverna with outstanding traditional Cretan food. Dined there on both nights we were in Atsipopoulo. Many thanks to Manolis and his hard-working family. Would go back to eat there when ever I'm in the area.
Peaceful small village where you are surrounded by the local way of life. Car and good map are essential to make the most of your stay. Great base for exploring Rethymnon, Chania and the dramatic scenery of western Crete. Easy access to quiet beaches such as Petres Bridge. Take the boat from Hora Sfakion and walk the Samaria Gorge, see turtles hatching courtesy of Archelon project, visit ancient Elefterna and its brand new museum, take a boat to Balos and Gramvoussa.
Atsipopolo is situated within ten minutes from Rethynmon. It is an authentic little Greek village and excellent as a base for exploring the region around Rethynmon and Chania. Mind, you will need a car if you stay there.
The village of Atsipopoulo has a really nice and relaxed atmosphere and offers great little tavernas, a couple of bars and the best home-made ice cream shop I've ever visited. Keep walking uphill in the narrow streets behind the church to the west of the main road, and you will find a taverna on a square in front of another church. This is were all the locals dine, and it has a fantastic atmosphere of chattering and laughing and kids playing in the street. The youngest waither speaks a little english, but sign language gets you a long way. One of the cheapest and best meals I had in Crete :)
