Wow, what an incredible stay at Hotel Porto Belissario! This hidden gem in Ferma, Crete absolutely exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt the warm welcome from staff and great hospitality from the hotel, with delicious Cretan special dishes and fantastic pool are by a beautiful panoramic sea view.

Miro was a wonderful host and went out of his way to be helpful to everyone. The breakfast was amazing. I'm a seasoned traveller and this was the best breakfast I've had, anywhere. Omelette and bacon, a cheese, meat and salad plate. Greek yogurt, honey, fresh fruit. Bread and sometimes a speciality Greek bread. Fresh orange juice, tea and coffee. And sitting on the balcony listening to the birds sing while eating breakfast was a delight. There are beautiful trees, flowers and shrubs tended to by Natalie who definitely has a green thumb, it's beautiful. I stayed for a month, so it became like home to me. It is set in the mountains so is like a retreat. Don't expect a TV because fortunately you can leave all that noise behind and have a wonderful stay in peace and nature. You can always tune in on your iPad etc if it's a real must for you because the wifi works all around the cottage. The swimming pool is secluded and surrounded by greenery so it is very relaxing. A short walk to several local beaches, taverna's and supermarkets and if you feel adventurous you can hike up to the Mirolas waterfall. A wonderful place that I'm missing already, and especially Rex the dog. I will definitely stay again.

· Location is great. The hotel is located on the beach and you can reach the sea in 5 minutes from you room. Room: being a family with 2 kids we have rented a family apartment (2 rooms and a shared bathroom) - which was perfect. It had a huge loge and the sea could be seen on the windows. The beds where comfortable with conditional air, one fridge, TV-s and nothing in addition you could want. Food: our booking was in "all inclusive" mode - so we have enjoyed 3 meals/day. The food was more than enough for all tastes. You could find all type of food and in sufficient quantities and each one can choose how much and what to eat. For sure much more food than you have at home :) Fun: aquatic park - very nice for small kids. The swimming pool - huge enough and with young people to animate the activities and bring more fun to the guests of the hotel. The beach has not sand but small stones - you can walk without dedicated shoes. And it was great that after a bath in the sea to lay down on the beach to be warm by the sun. The hotel representative: GREAT! we have been invites for a meeting with a hotel manager and we have spent a delightful 1 hour. Having a rented car, we have received recommendations for trips and visits in the east of the island. Great tips and ideas and we have appreciated the explanations and the ideas considering that some of the information could not be necessary be found on the internet. Disliked · I have nothing to complain about. Just to copy a piece of advice received and which represent also what I consider: in case you look something to complain, than you can probably find something; but if you find one or more things you like if you focus on them, than the positive aspects overtakes and overshine everything else.

    Very nice place, the house and the equipment was very nice, cosy, convenient and really generous space. The pool was just for us, clean and big enough. There was an outdoor place with grill, tables and a fridge. The beach was just 2 min walk, Nice, quiet, the sea was clean and nice to swim, small stones at the beach, however the sand in the water. Nearby shops. Overall satisfied recommend.

    Just a perfect place between two cities - Ierapetra and...

    Just a perfect place between two cities - Ierapetra and Makry Gialos. Very clean beaches and warm water even in October-November. Very fresh air among the olive trees. You can feel the atmosphere of the old Village while living in the new premises. Ferma village is a little forgotten peaceful gem, where you can find everything you need for life: nice tavernas with tasty food: Katerina, Steki, good supermarket Astron, cafe "Route 76". Don't forget to walk on the beach around the old abandoned 1000 rooms "Ferma Beach Hotel" to the small port, it's an experience in itself!

    Beautiful place with lots of tourists.

    Beautiful place with lots of tourists. The region is generally very touristic. It has some amazing places to eat, especially in the nearby Makri Gialos where I would recommend breakfast and coffee at Coukos Island and Italian rizotto with mushrooms for lunch at Diaskari, Makri Gialos.

    a nice area of Crete with beautiful sea, in many different neighbouring gulfs, some interesting sights near by and good food. A good spot to explore eastern Crete, but certainly one needs a private car and be prepared that there are no highways around!

    A relaxing place surrounded by nature, among the olive trees, with a beautiful garden and well attended studios with everything you need. Super comfy bed. The tavern that is 5 minutes away has great food and friendly staff. There is a nice beach (Ferma beach) that you can get to on foot, it takes some 15 minutes, and plenty of the more famous Cretan beaches to reach in about 60 to 90 minutes by car. Roads are good and pretty empty in late September.

    Beautiful views. Spotlessly clean. Lovely pool. Friendly and helpful staff. Good and fresh food with plenty of variety. Delicious breakfast. Lovely bakery and 2 very good restaurants in addition nearby. Lovely peaceful stay 😊Hotel arranged a taxi from the airport and a taxi for evenings out. Lovely little Hotel. Highly recommend for a chilled out family stay or couples break.

    Iris is a lovely warm and helpful host here in this hidden pearl of a hotel in Ferma. The apartment was pristine and located beautifully, pictures don't do it justice. Lovely atmosphere all around and we were so happy to have stayed here. I highly recommend staying at La Luna Blu if you're going to Crete. I know me and my family will definitely want to go back here again!
