Beautiful location, quiet but only a few minutes walk from the town with all restaurants, shops and other services. Apartment was big and spacious, beautifully decorated and very clean. It had 2 balconies with nice views over Chora and the island. Free transport from and to the port was a nice bonus.

Beautiful roomy apartments, with truly stunning views from the room and our balcony, a slice of paradise. Beautifully quiet, a 5/10 minute walk to town, a free pick up and drop off service to and from the port, drinks and breakfast around the pool cooked by the family. I’m not sure what more you could ask for.

Where to start.....The staff are professional & friendly, Gundari"s Spa treatment makes you "float" and the breakfast & dinner were absolutely top class, not to mention the bar & atmosphere. The main infinity pool and view were simply stunning as well!! Located only mins from the main town of Chora makes it very convenient and is a must-see. So many serene little beaches to be discovered and the water is crystal clear.....I really didn't want to leave
Folegrandos is a great place if you enjoy walking.
Folegrandos is a great place if you enjoy walking. There are several trails to remote beaches.
Chora is a great base and the centre of town is amazing - it’s pedestrianised so very safe & clean. Loads of shops and restaurants. One of my favourite places in the Cyclades.
Bus service was reliable and cheap.

It is a small island - but there are a few very nice and interesting places to go and visit: for me/us - the beach of Agios Nikolaos (and it´s small bar with food and excellent reggae and latin music - just to sit / drink beer or ouzo and RELAX staring at the beach and the sea...) - you go from Agkali / the beach "Katergo" - nothing there, you need to get everything with you before you go (by a small boat) from the port Karavostassi - but it is pure nature, a very simple beach, crystal clear waters.
Restaurants in Chora: Mparmpounaki - Goupi - Araxe. To name just a few.
Traffic: Very good, check the schedules and it´s fine, you plan your day trip accordingly.
The island is a very good place for those who enjoy also hill walking and hiking.
As well for going to / swimming / and relaxing on a relatively distant / lonely beach (there are more than above referred, but we had no time to go).
In the evening to enjoy the international, but traditional Greek company in various places that Chora (the main village) has and offers.
Just: HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!

Folegandros is an up-and-coming island destination that will no doubt soon be the next Santorini or Mykonos. The Chora is just big enough to provide all the dining options you could want, with well kept storefronts to chose from, but not the crowds one must endure on Santorini or Mykonos. I would recommend a car if you are keen to see the full island, but there is a fairly robust network of buses that will take you close to most places you may want to explore. Most beaches are not direct access, but the short hikes are well worth it to experience Folegandros’ stunning beaches, such as Paralia Agios Nikolaos.

The town absorbed tourists so that they weren't intrusive.
The town absorbed tourists so that they weren't intrusive. The most scenic part of the town was more or less off-limits to tourists. While little shops had popped up all over the town, they were mostly tastefully adorned with a painted sign announcing their name and wares. Probably the tourist and the local weighting of the town was even. I've visited Folegandros numerous times over the past 45 years and I've seen it grow gracefully. In the early days, it was a declining farming island as the young people migrated to the big cities. Then, there was only one hotel in the town. But along the line, it resisted the temptation to sell out like some of the other Greek islands have done and it is now a very restful and satisfying place to visit.

This is a great relaxed town with plenty of dining options on 4 squares, plenty of shops and enough to do. You need a swimming pool at your hotel as beaches are too far to walk. Boat trip around island to reach all beaches was great option. Cheap bus to port every half hour or hire scooter or car. Small island can be covered quickly if you have own transport. Beaches was not our priority so if that's your thing choose a hotel on one of the two inhabited coastal spots! Folegandros is a quaint island with donkeys and rural working farms with enough small beaches if you make some effort from Chora.

The cutest little town on the cutest little island!
The cutest little town on the cutest little island! We rented a quad bike to get around which made it so easy to roam the entire island. Hiking up to watch the sunset at the Church of Panagia is a must! Most restaurants and shops close for siesta between 3pm - 5pm, but the whole town comes to life once the sun sets. We had delicious meals at Piatsa, Souvlaki Club, and Araxe. Parasagas has amazing gelato and the drinks at Aquarius were divine!

We had a beautiful stay here and absolutely loved it. The staff were so friendly and always smiling and willing to help. The breakfast was extensive with lots of options and has variety each morning. The room was spacious and comfortable. Close to the main town and it was within walking distance! Could not fault the hotel here, when we come back to the island we will definitely stay here!!
Perfect location. Perfect cleaning. Wonderful view! The owner was very kind and met us in the port. The hotel is located right at the beginning of a village, what is great, because you could go for a walk to Chora or park a car nearby. The view from the balcony is stunning, overlooking the sea, the sunset and the church. The room is spacious.
Staff went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. It is a small and quiet hotel yet close to restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. Rooms are beautifully designed and equipped with everything one might need including slippers, bathrobe, safe, hair dryer and toiletries.
The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The staff were all incredibly friendly and always ready to assist. The room was very clean. Terrific shower. Pool area was immaculate. If you want a place to relax and enjoy the tranquility, this is the place to stay at.
We liked a lot the pool. You can see the Panagia church, one of the main sights of the island, from the pool area. Spacious room. Parking lot belonging to the hotel (otherwise it is not allowed to enter the main village of Folegandros).
