All beaches were clean and tidy. Enjoyed by the locals, often staying past sundown. Lots of tavernas to enjoy. Short walk to 2 supermarkets if needed, well stocked. Kato Daratso is a lovely beach location a couple of kilometers outside Chania centre which you can walk into along the beach in 15/20 minutes or take the bus which stops every 15 minutes at the top of the road and takes you in in 5 minutes for €1.20. The Theodosi restaurant is highly recommended. There are a number of supermarkets and pharmacies in the area. Vivid village with plenty of of restaurants and shops, even Lidl. There is car rental and also travel agency as well, in case you want a book an excursion. The beach is super sandy and there is surf/SUP rental. I stayed for 21 days in order to explore the island of Crete and Ana was a great host, so kind and each day so friendly, smiling and cheerful. The food was great (especially local dishes - dakos for breakfast and all the dishes served for dinner). The location is very great and strategic if you want to be near 4-5 beaches just a few minutes walk.
