Evia Hotel and Suites is located on a hill right above the town of Marmari, with sweeping views of the sea and town. It features an outdoor pool, a poolside bar and a 24-hour front desk. Fantastic views from our balcony (& all balconies). Lovely large infinity pool. Good breakfast. Very convenient 5 minute stroll to the sea front with a range of harbour-side restaurants. We stayed on the last weekend before the hotel closed for the winter and were particularly impressed with the staff. Far from being tired/jaded at the end of the season, they were friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
Located in the magnificent south bay of Evia island, this hotel offers you the simplicity and peace of a typical fishing village. Everything was great at the hotel, the view, the rooms, the staff was helpful. At first they didn't have our room for 3 ready but they offered us 2 connected rooms for 2 people each and then moved us into an apartment. Breakfast was good and we always found parking easily.
Set in Marmarion, 200 metres from Marmari Port and 3 km from Figias Beach, Villa Marmari 2 offers accommodation with free WiFi, air conditioning, a garden and a terrace. We liked the whole package. The house is superb, new and modern. The location is in Marmari, no need for car.
Offering sea views, Ravishing View Zastani House 2 is an accommodation situated in Marmarion, 2.3 km from Marmari Port and 5 km from Figias Beach. Thank you for the warm hospitality! And thanks for wine and tsipuro! Quiet place near excellent beach. Very spacy. Nice sea view. 25 min from Athens airport to Rafina. 57 euro for a car and four passengers. One hour of nice voyage on ferry, and you are in Marmari. 7 min by car to the place. More than super!
Surrounded by farmland and vineyards, Ktima Nikola is a complex of year-round bungalows and located in Likorema village. It offers balconies with sea and mountain views. Lovely house, very clean, beautiful view from the lovely terrace in front of the house. All the houses have sea view and it is quiet at night. The breakfast was very good too. The host Natasha is lovely. We really enjoyed our stay!
Just 90 minutes from Athens International Airport, a slice of authentic Greece awaits you at Gikas Apartments, in the fishing village and holiday resort of Marmari. We spent two wonderful weeks. The owner was very open to our needs. The rooms were cleaned every day.
An attractive little port on Evia, with beautifully sited harbour-side cafés. A good sandy beach to the north. The large village church has magnificent traditional byzantine frescos, despite being under 25 years old (it replaces a previous one destroyed in an earthquake)
This is a ferry port and nothing more. Most cars from the ferry just drive straight through. There are some cafes, bars and restaurants but several had closed or started to wind down early September even before the end of the school holidays. There is a reasonable gravel beach about 2 kms from town ideal for kite surfing.
This place reminds me of places I visited in Greece 30 years ago. It's a working village with a working harbour ( ferries from and to Rafina), fishing boats and the odd yacht. It's doesn't feel touristy although I believe many Greeks holiday here from mid July and throughout August so it will be much busier then. There are plenty of tavernas along the seafront and coastal walks to nearby beaches. Expect traditional Greek food, fish and meat dishes but do ask if you are vegetarian as we found a couple of tavernas that went out of their way to suggest off menu dishes that would be suitable. There is a local bus to Karystos which is worth a visit, do go to the small museum there which is located in the library behind the steam roller! Marmarion does have fairly steep roads off the main seafront road and it was quite breezy for most of our stay but that helped us cope with the heat. The beaches are a delight and the sea is warm enough to swim in. Everyone we met was very friendly and welcoming. Ferry from Rafina cost us €9pp each way and takes about an hour.
Marmari is a quiet village near the sea. It's natural beauty is something to see. The people are friendly and helpful. A highlight of our trip to Marmari was a restaurant named Kalliston Creamery; really good homemade deserts.
Wonderful little town for a few day's stay having caught the ferry from Attica. Bus connections aren't great so you'll need a car to do any exploring outside the town itself Paralia Megali Ammos is a beautiful beach to visit
Charming unspoilt area. Small beaches just out of the main area and clear water.Enough choice of eateries to make it interesting but not too overcrowded. Lots of local families and Greek holidaymakers.
