Situated in Meganisi, 5 km from Cave of Papanicolis, Vathy Studios features air-conditioned accommodation and a bar. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. The hosts are very kind and friendly! The location is perfect - on the main square, close to supermarkets and good restaurants. The breakfast was delicious. The room was clean, big and nice decorated, with a terrace looking to the sea. Very comfortable bed and bathroom. If you are with car, you can park it around the yacht port, which is in meters distance from the studios. The village is very calm and picturesque! We will recommend your place to our friends and will come back again! Thank you! :)
Villa Lydia is set in Meganisi, 4.4 km from Cave of Papanicolis and features air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi, as well as access to an outdoor swimming pool and a barbecue. Fay was a wonderful host. In addition to bringing you breakfast to eat on the balcony each morning, she provided beach towels, beach chairs and a parasol if you wanted one. She knows the island well, where to eat and was just wonderful. Having stayed in many Greek places, we cannot fault any aspect of our stay. We will be back Fay!
The island is really pretty with some lovely beaches & great restaurants & cafes. The local people are pleasant & welcoming. Great place to relax. The island is let down by its transport links. We were staying in Vathi & the ferry no longer goes to Vathi. There is no bus timetable on line (not released yet for 2019 - & it’s September!). We travelled on Sunday & didn’t know the bus doesn’t operate on Sunday. It was also generally inconsistent & unreliable (we think, but can’t be sure cos no timetable!). There is also only one taxi on the island.
Small island with charm. Only two organised beaches, no buses, 2 taxis on the island which are ridiculously expensive, one petrol station, lots of yachty types in Vathy which is busy on Mondays. Ideal place if you're an extra in Cocoon or The Marigold Hotel!
Meganisi is a little paradise for those looking for a peaceful island away from the main tourist areas. People are friendly, food is great, and there are some secluded and not crowded beaches. It is also fantastic for running.
Meganisi is a delightful, peaceful and unspoilt island. The main port town of Vathy is charming and friendly with many restaurants, shops and some accommodation. The Mistral hotel is in a good location on the waterfront with excellent management and simple but comfortable and clean rooms, ideal for a few nights stay. This is very much an island for the "yachties" with many small gorgeous bays to drop anchor. However, it is possible to enjoy Meganisi without a boat. Roads are narrow but in o.k. condition for small cars or motor bikes. Individual travellers can hire a boat or a taxi to explore the whole island. Meganisi is a "gem waiting to be polished" which probably won't be long, by the rate of modern grand buildings being developed all over the island. It would be a shame to eventually loose the charm and simplicity of how Meganisi is today.
The island is dirty, the roads are bad and dangerous, 2 cars from opposite direction can't cross. The road side vegetation scratched my car, some roads to the beaches where inaccessible because of wild vegetation. The streets in villages are incredible tight, with my pick-up I was not able to cross the villages I need to walk to go to supermarkets...
Extremely friendly people. Combination of traditional and modern. Beautiful scenery and small bays / beaches . The latter ideal for a cooling dip after a walk. Had some amazing food in Vathy / Katomeri in particular. I like 'small islands' and this provides the right combination ( for me ) of quiet , traditional however with tourist amenities such as great tavernas based by the sea,

The property was spacious and clean and had a lovely feeling, much bigger than expected.I couldn’t have asked for a better reception with Andreas collecting me from a nearby port because my flight had been disrupted. These guys really know about hospitality and after a wonderful week in Greece my thanks go to Andreas and his family for showing me such a fantastic reception.

I surprised my partner as he has been working in Greece for a while, and the staff helped me do it! Offered rides into town, and made sure we were comfy and enjoying the stay! Loveliest people I have met
