Situated in Mesta in the Chios Island region, STOES Traditional Suites features accommodation with free WiFi. George, the host, was very nice and gave us a lot of good informations . The Roms where very clean and comfortable. The lighting of the rooms is very good and creates a good atmosphere
Spread around the medieval village of Mesta in Chios, Lida Mairy features elegant accommodation in traditional style and free Wi-Fi. Cafés and taverns can be found at 50 metres. Perfect location within the old village walls. Tasos who came and met us and took us to our accommodation was very friendly and helpful with plenty of information on what to do.
Located in Pyrgi, Mastiha House offers elegantly decorated, self-catering accommodation made of local stone. Free WiFi access is available throughout. The apartment was beautiful and perfectly located in the unique village of Pyrgi. I was torn between staying here or in neighboring Mesta. I am so glad I stayed here. The village feels lived in, authentic, not as touristy and there was a lovely balcony at my apartment where I could relax as the neighbourhood went about their life. I met friendly local people who enriched my stay and knowledge about Chios. The place was very reasonably priced, quiet and very clean too....with a comfortable bed and a little kitchen. Everything you could want for an amazing stay on Chios. Easy to park on outskirts of village too.
Peacefully set in Pyrgi in the Chios Island region, Xista Manor House ® has a terrace. It is situated in a building dating from 1980, 3.6 km from Mastichochoria. Stelios and Maria were the best hosts, we arrived at midnight but they were there to welcome us. The house was full of treats that made our stay easier. Everything was clean and comfortable. This will be our only option for our next stays in Chios. Many thanks and greetings to our lovely hosts :))
Perched on a rocky hill, right above Karinta Bay in Chios, the family-run Louiza Apartments features lush gardens with stone paved alleys, a mini soccer field and a basketball court. This is a beautiful property right by the sea, we were a party of four who all wanted to lay back, relax and rejuvenate, and we couldn't have chosen a better place to do it. Stephanos met us at the airport with the car that we were hiring for the week, gave us the keys and directions which were quite easy to follow. The property is outside Pyrgi, down a winding track to a secluded bay. It was, for us, the perfect location. We had the two bedroom apartment on the top floor with beautiful views. the rooms were clean and bright, with everything we needed for our one week stay. The complex has a bar area, washing machine, badminton court, childrens play area, and just outside the gate are some steps off the rocks into the sea. Bliss. Stephanos was a considerate host who kept in touch via text to make sure everything was alright and to see if we needed anything. All in all we had a marvellous time and if we go back to Xios we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thank you.
Loved it. Pretty medieval town with lots of cute places to explore. A car is necessary. So much to explore near by too! There are a few little restaurants in town, the best one was a little restaurant with an owner called Marina. It was a cute family run place with great Greek food.
Friendly natural atmosphere, safe location. Recommend Mesaionas restaurant in the square for dining. We used a local taxi owned by Dimitri's for getting around. Would recommend a car if you are used to driving on right. Beach at Apothiki great.
Mesta is a charming medieval castle village which has retained most of its originality when compared to the other Mastic villages of Chios. We stayed at the Lida Mary hotel and it really was the best hotel we have ever stayed in anywhere in the world - there is nothing that we could fault - and Tasos, the manager, made sure we were well informed about all the places to see and where to eat. A car is essential to getting around Chios and especially for going to the South where the mastic villages are located. The two best beaches are definitely the Mavra Volia and Agia Dynami but don't just go to the beaches... The old mastic village of Pyrgi is also a must see with its beautifully engraved buildings. Also see the Mastic museum which only has a three Euro entrance fee and also has a Mastiha Shop and Mastiha Cafe with amazing staff and lovely items on the menu to taste. If you are staying in the South, do try to make sure you have the time to also go to Nea Moni - a monastery which is also a UNESCO World heritage site. For eating, we had two favourite restaurants, both of which were very reasonably priced - so much so that we think they are underpriced! O Mesaonas in Mesta Square has authentic Greek food - we particularly liked the shrimp saganaki, grilled Mastello cheese and the peppers with melted feta cheese. Despina, the owner, is an amazing lady who makes you feel as though you are at home. We also very much enjoyed Stou Giorgou where they don't speak particularly good English and the menu is only in Greek but we let our host select our food... we are glad we did because we had the best Greek salad and octopus that we have ever had. The view from this restaurant is also absolutely amazing.
