A newly built, exceptionally clean, lovely room, small, but everything you need. We loved the swim up pool immediately outside the room. It is very quiet in the evening, which we enjoyed, but others may be looking for a more party type of experience. This may change of course when the roof top bar is built. Lots of very good restaurants a few minutes walk and a good amount of locals restaurants and mini supermarkets. About 4 minutes walk to the beach .

Everything was great. The staff was very welcoming from the first moment, very friendly and helpful. The suite was spacious, beautiful, with a great view, very clean. They treated us with some home made deserts which were amazing. We have been in Platania before, but I will never change ERATO with any other hotel. The Beach Bar was another compliment of the hotel. The food was great, service even better, exquisite!!!

    We went during school holidays so it was pretty busy but the tourist high street was quiet during the day while everyone was on the beach. The food was excellent. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. The beach bars were also good. The Cretans were very friendly and helpful. Crete has plenty of interesting sites to visit both inland and on the coast. We would happily return.

    Plataniás is bustling - very busy full of shops (which are great) and restaurants. There are, unfortunately, too many places serving chips with everything! We wish there had been some more options, i.e. rice, authentic Cretan dishes, taverna based meals, but it is what it is. There was no need for a car - most places were walkable. Our villa was amazing, but we would not return to Plataniás - it seemed to have dropped down a notch since our trip last year. We saw quite a few young (and older) men walking around shirtless and some girls dressed quite inappropriately. I'm not a prude, but it made the area far less salubrious than it should be.

    I don't usually like touristy places but Platanias had a lovely feel about it. Not too many people, although this may have been because we went in September. We visited the War Museum - definitely worth it. Also went to John the Hermit cave and monastery at Kissimo which were unbelievable. Beach was great and snorkeling trip fantastic and well looked after.

    Touristy beach town extending along one road with lots and lots of restaurants, bars, hotels etc. lovely to get away from the road onto the beach. Beach was calmer and more relaxed away from the town centre.

    It’s a great location with its own beach, but also a short driving distance to other fantastic beaches such as Falasarna, Elafonisi, Balos. A lot of food options. Not so much clubbing or night life.

    The beach is nice, one can enjoy both sunrise & sunset at it. Warm waters. You must have beach shoes, as it is mostly made of rocks. You can go around by foot or bus, which runs every 20-30 minutes. Platanias has a good variety of shops, bar, restaurants to choose from, but our favourite by far was the SUN RISE BEACH RESTAURANT. Great food, generous portions, value for money and absolutely friendly team.

    We liked everything about this place: location is great - tavernas, bars, cafes, shops, Lidl, supermarkets, beach just across the road, bus stop to Chania in front of the house plus own parking space in the front yard. It was perfectly clean and we had everything necessary for a long stay. We had our apartment cleaned and offered changed sheets and towels every second day. The beds are very comfortable even the sofa bed. And Georgia and her mum and dad are great hosts! Thank you for the great welcome - we had a great stay!

    Very beautiful and well maintained property in the center of Platanias (25 mins drive from Chania) with a generous beach front and pool. Lovely owners and staff, very attentive with the guests from every aspect, worth mentioning that there's a focus on quality (didn't expect speciality coffee in a hotel - same with the food from the restaurant, the breakfast is not a buffet). We will return with pleasure when visiting Crete again.

    We had an incredible experience at the Atlantica Caldera Bay! We were on our honeymoon and the sweet members of the staff surprised us with a honeymoon decorated suite! The resort is truly beautiful, the room was very nice and cozy, the staff was very friendly, the food was amazing and the town was very entertaining! When we come back to Crete this is definitely where we’re staying!

    The hotel is in a great location – in a quieter village, yet very close to Chania, so it was easy to explore the area. We really enjoyed the pool area, which was very nice and surrounded by lots of beautiful flowers and greenery. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, so there was always something to choose from. Overall, it was a peaceful and pleasant stay.
