Guatemala City is a city that can offer a wide variety of activities once you get to know the area a little better. The way the city is organized is a little tricky but nothing than cannot be solved with a good Uber driver who is willing t explain the zones and areas.

A very diverse country.
A very diverse country. Enjoyed Antigua, Lake Atitlan, Tikal/Flores and Monterico. Guatemala city is loud and very busy. Traffic and travel is tough, especially in Guatemala City. Not much better in other parts of the country. We took a plane from Guatemala City to Tikal/ Flores. Found this to be a very good way to get there. Guatemala is a third world country, so the water is not safe to drink, toilet tissue goes in the waste basket in the bathroom, and trash by the roads is common. People are for the most part very pleasant, though as always, buyer beware. I wish my tourist Spanish was better. Guatemala city is a pass through, though we id enjoy one day of museums and a botanical garden.

I loved Guatemala and highly recommend anyone travel here.
I loved Guatemala and highly recommend anyone travel here. The people are super friendly and helpful. I felt completely safe and the only concern I had was in the crowded market someone trying to pick my pocket for money or credit cards.

Guatemala is a beautiful country, lakes, volcanoes, people of good hearts, I never see the sky full of stars, like the sky in Guatemala. In October you can see the most wonderful full moon. I left my heart over there.

Guatemala is a precious jewel and its people admirable.
Guatemala is a precious jewel and its people admirable. Thank you very much for your hospitality. Favorite spots were many: Guatemala City, Antigua, Tecpan, Chichicastenanago, Panajachel., Lake Atitlan... But, the Guatermalan people's character and culture surpasses them all.

I liked that it had a kitchen where you could cook and loved the terrace too. We had a private bathroom and that was great too. The location was good and the staff super friendly. If you’re passing by Guatemala City, it’s worth staying here. We felt super comfortable. Also there are some bars and terraces just across the street and a supermarket. It’s close to the airport as well.
100% recommend staying at Casa Quetzal, if you arrive late, have an early flight out or a layover over night in Guatemala City.
The hostel is super close to the airport, a really good value for money, the owners are the most amazing and friendly people and the breakfast was super delicious.
Will definitely come back whenever I have a layover ☺️
The location is perfect - right next to the airport and in a gated area so very secure. It was perfect for our one night in Guatemala city before going on into Southwestern Guatemala. The breakfast was very good as well with multiple options. Fresh water is available in the lobby as well as in each of the rooms so that was also very helpful.
it is such a cute hotel where you feel so welcome! Fernando and his family are super accommodating— picked us up at the airport even though we had different landing times, breakfast is good. Rooms are big and comfy. the terrace is a nice place to work and chill.
Really recommended if you are staying in Guatemala City.
