We stayed overnight having arrived by ship and then flying back to Australia. We did not venture out very far from the hotel as covid is/was quite rampant in Hong Kong (we did arrive back in Australia and tested positive for covid on arrival). I loved visiting Hong Kong in the past and hope that I will be able to visit for a longer period one day when this pandemic is more in control.
Hong Kong is always a refreshing short stop. I'd recommend it for those looking for a flavour of China without the full on experience of China. The cuisine choices are varied and amazing. Great views and short hikes. You can enjoy trams, MTR, cable cars, ferries, and buses with just the Octopus card. There's so much to discover in small streets and alley ways. Most importantly, the Cantonese are like big bursts of adrenaline.
The hotel is a great location if you are visiting the horse races and has amazing views of the racecourse as long as you book racecourse view. They did not ask us at check in if we did or did not want our rooms cleaned. We were very disappointed when out all day from 6am-3pm to come back and find an unmade room. When we requested this they said housekeeping were not available until the next day when we were checking out anyway. They did however bring us clean towels on request and water. The cleanliness of the public areas in the hotel was not great an attempt to clean up when we mentioned was half heartedly done. Breakfast was average. They offer a good hourly shuttle service hourly to various locations including central train station which is really handy.
World famous destination with a touch of Dubai,Singapore,Rio London.Extremely busy but very safe.Woke culture does not exist here.Local markets are widespread and cheap and cater to the locals.there are numerous brand outlets and a large amount of retail apparel stores but prices are at western levels. There are plenty of big sights ,harbour traffic, with interesting food .Public transport is accessible everywhere is user friendly and cheap.A unique experience with a touch of chaos, money, and local culture and historical intrigue.Truly at the crossroads of the West and East.
We had a 24 hour stop on our way to New Zealand so was too short to see much of Hong Kong but the hotel was great and very accomodating. Breakfast was excellent and offered local delicacies as well. Would recommend Transport was laid on and a free bus every half an hour Also a train was avaliable in to Hong Kong Central - a short walk from the hotel
It was good to be back here. While it's still a great place to visit, my feel of the place is that it still lacks the former vitality and vigor it had before Covid, the crackdown on protests and the ensuing exodus of foreign workers and resident Hong Kong people.
Hong Kong
Location was best for us, lots of hiking rails up to mountain (the peak) near, squash hall quite near, maybe best city parks in Hong Kong(with monkeys) and grocery nearly next door. 100% of staff we met during our one week stay were in good mood which is exceptional in hotels in generally. Free taxies drive by Macdonnel road all the time Half-moon windows in our bedroom were awesome with view of some tallest HK buildings. Overall we really liked stay in 2MD and will probably use the hotels of the hotel’s chain in future.
The staff were very welcoming and accommodating, we received a free upgrade to a room with a sea view, which was lovely. Rooms are spacious for Hong Kong, also very comfortable for working from the room for a couple of days and WiFi is decent. The location of the hotel is fantastic, convenient for transport, casual and fancy food options, tons of shopping and an easy 10 mins walk to Leighton Hill Community Hall for mandatory PCR tests too. Full breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato and beans was excellent.
The location of this hotel is excellent! Lots of things to do in the area, and a quick walk away from the Wan Chai MTR. It is extremely central and close to everything. The rooms were very clean and a full ironing board and iron was quite useful. The rooms were also very quiet with good noise insulation. Wifi connection was strong. Shower pressure was excellent. USB charging slots were useful.
The room is worth the price, very clean and has some views around the hotel. The room is very clean, the room is quite spacious. Around the hotel is Hong Kong's Tsim Sha Tsui area, near the subway station and there are many bus stops. Traveling to tourist attractions is convenient. The receptionist gave good advice for serving tourists.
We loved the Explorers theming! A pure magical stay in probably one of the best Disney hotels ever made. The Lobby is gorgeous, sone rooms have sea views and there is theming everywhere in the hotel. Close to Hong Kong Disneyland with a free Shuttle service to the park. The room was spacious, clean, great facilities.
Great location at the airport. Take the airport express to HK for meetings then come right back and fly out. Hotel is 1/2 the price of those in downtown. Rooms are spacious and clean. Connection to TST and IFC Hong Kong is priceless!
The view was absolutely amazing! The staff were kind, friendly and thoughtful. Hands down the best customer service in a hotel that we've received in Hong Kong (yes - even better than other 5-star hotels that we've started before in HK).
Hong Kong
Location: great if need to tour or shop around Admiralty, Wan Chai and Causeway Bay. Room: well furnished, quite spacious compared to other hotels in HK. Staff: helped with the luggage and were super friendly.
location is quiet enough yet close to hussle and bussle, Wan Chai (MTR&Ferry), Admiralty (MTR), Central (MTR&Ferry) all within 10-15mins walk. Next to Hong Kong Arts Centre (bonus).
We love the place. We will go back to this hotel once we come back in Hong Kong. We appreciate also the staffs in this hotel as they do extra miles that made us comfortable to stay. 🙂
