FAQs about hotels in Hong Kong

Style Amidst the Skyscrapers

One of the world’s busiest and most populated cities, Hong Kong is best-known for its stunning skyline with over 1,200 skyscrapers and its “East meets West” cultural mix. With architecture and interior design influenced by feng shui and modern technology, this city is truly unique.

Hong Kong offers plenty of interesting city and thematic tours, ranging from cuisine-oriented, to architecture or nature. The latter is particularly fascinating as Hong Kong has many amazing mountain landscapes, marine parks and the Tian Tan Buddha on Lantau Island is only a ferry ride away.

Kowloon is a busy urban center near Victoria Harbor, where ferries are an excellent choice to see just how tall Hong Kong's buildings actually are. Excellent tax-free shopping can be found in high-class malls, boutiques and street markets.

Hong Kongs’ unique cultural fusion is clearly seen, tasted and heard in the local food, like dim sum from Maxim's Palace or hot pot from street vendors complimented local Cantopop music in the background.

Arriving at Hong Kong International Airport you’re only a short trip from the city center. Whether you’re staying in a chic hotel or a budget hostel, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for a holiday in Hong Kong.

What I like most was the night views of the city skyline and the local cuisine. Hong Kong is a city with a perfect transportation system that makes it easy to explore also by walking. I enjoyed every part of the trip, so it is hard to point anything I disliked.

Great for first time visitors to visit nearby attractions in city, but also try outskirts near Disneyland HK. For returning visitors, HK is always a pleasant city to visit, just be prepared to walk, although MTR and public transportation is excellent. Food is great too!

WE were there for 5 days, which is just about right.

WE were there for 5 days, which is just about right. We did it all--the ferry to Kowloon, Mt. Victoria, the markets, and a day trip to Lamma Island. HK is a fascinating, busy, vibrant city but beware of the crowds, especially on Sunday, when the entire city seems to be out and about. Victoria Peak was a great lookout, but again, the crowds! Nonetheless, we enjoyed out time there, and the food especially was awesome: the dim sum street stalls, seafood on Lamma Island, every type of Asian cuisine and a good selection of Western food as well, from Argentinian steak houses to Italian lasagna. In all, a food lovers paradise!

Hong Kong is still a fun place to visit.

Hong Kong is still a fun place to visit. You need to get out and about to see different things because it is well worth the effort. We lived there in 1997 - 2000 and things have changed for sure but as a visitor you are always welcomed and it is as safe as it always was. Great food of course but perhaps just a bit more expensive than I remember but that is the case the world over. Go and visit it is still vibrant and a bustling city stay.

A bustling city with a wide range of shops restaurants and bars to suit most tastes. Cheap taxis make getting around easy but you need cash to pay them. It is worth getting a local sim card for access to the internet and navigation. These cards can be bought at the airport or at any 7/11 shop in the city. The city is quite polluted and noisy and will put off some sensitive people. Be prepared to do a lot of walking with some quite steep hills around the central and Mid levels. Weather can be quite hot at any time of the year. The cost of eating out is quite high with the cheapest set menu for lunch ending up costing around £20 .per head. A lot to see if you plan carefully.

Great hotel option near airport with free airport shuttle. Excellent service from staff, clean rooms with standard facilities and a few nice touches eg eco-friendly toiletries and cans of water instead of bottles. Very good, extensive buffet breakfast. Free shuttle to Tung Chung where you can catch a local metro train to Hong Kong Central for a third the price of the AirPort train.

The hotel is in a good location, short walk to the train station, and it's pretty easy to go to Central or Kowloon from the hostel. There's loads of nearby restaurants, coffee shops and convenience stores. I found this pretty good value for money (but I guess prices fluctuate) and considering this is Hong Kong, I had a fairly large room that was clean!

Its location is fantastic, in central Wan Chai, walking distance to many attractions. MTR entrance is 20m away from hotel. Many pubs / restaurants nearby. The staff is polite and helpful. The rooms are comfortable. Overall a great place to stay for a short trip.

Room with a view of Hong Kong. Clean, modern hotel, with good facilities. Whilst the location is not quite in the middle of Kowloon, the nearest MTR underground station is very close, so getting around is easy.

Location-wise,it's only 10-15 minutes tram ride to Central(35-40 minutes brisk walk). Also, you can take a ferry ride from Wan Chai to Kowloon which is the more traditional side of Hong Kong.
