Makarska is beautiful with lots of choice of restaurants and bars along the beach. Makarska old town is beautiful and was our favorite place to hang out. Full of character and amazing architecture with the old buildings, little streets off with small independent shops and coffee shops/restaurants. The square that has entertainment going on. There's a beautiful harbor and lovely walks from there to explore other beaches. Makarska is so clean and the people are so friendly. There's so much to explore in the area as well as further afield. I've been to many holiday locations in Croatia and Makarska is underrated . It has much to offer families with many restaurants and cafes, all along the shaded promenade. Makarska has what every town, city or village should have- miles-long promenade for wonderful evening walks. The greatest asset of Makarska are its majestic pine trees. Not only do they release scents to die for, they provide incredible natural beach shade. The shade on some beaches extends all the way to the water. This place is so charming and beautiful. Every moment spent there is magical. You can swim, walk, bike, sunbathe or just chill and enjoy all of the beauty it has to offer. The location is perfect, you will struggle to find a better place to stay. Short walk to both centre and beaches. Off the road parking within property grounds as well. Hosts are lovely and available for anything. We are a family of four, with a 1 year and 3 year olds. We found our stay very comfortable and safe. Children were happy.
