The location is amazing. Sobra is very beautiful, and having a room with views to the sea from your window can't be topped. Very quiet and enjoyable. It was clean and having kitchen was useful. The lady was super kind.

MLJET: This island is a secret gem, and we were astonished by it's beauty and serenity. Amazing flora and fauna, its turquise waters so clean you can see everything under, urlchins, slugs, fish, molluscs. The cicadas are the only sound you hear cutting trough the sounds of waves. Whatever you love in nature, you will find here. Mountains, beautifully preserved Mediterranean forests, beaches, the sea. The smell of aleppo pines, salt water and flowers blooming will follow you around. The island is bigger than we thought but only has about 5-600 permanent residents. We were very sad to hear that due to international and internal politics, most residents need 2-3 jobs to stay afloat. They would deserves so much more for the hard work they put in. Olive tree terraces, agaves, lizards, geckos.. amazing wildlife. OKUKLJE BAY and the locals: They left an impression we will never forget. We travelled to many countries and stayed with the locals wherever we could but not once experienced the helpful, lovely, welcoming attitude Nikki and the small community of just over 30 has shown us. You can access the whole of Mljet island from here but you will need to rent a car, scooter or bikes unless you want to go on very long walks up and down winding roads. The small bay/ village has only one road and several houses but offers a great variety of local and international food with 5 restaurants and 2 small local shops. If you want to to a bigger shopping spree, you would need to drive to the neighbouring place, where you can find a supermarket. We dined at Porto Della Vita, met Anton and his lovely father, who owns the restaurant. Food is amazing, locally sourced, fresh and cooked for you then and there. Hospitality is impeccable, prices fair and affordable. Definitely recommend. Fish, mussels, octopus on the menu is the daily cath, most ingredients locally grown and sourced.

We loved everything. Paula is an excellent host, very professional, and very helpful and friendly, but so the rest of the family. We were the first customers to a new brand and beautiful apartment, with big balcony and a sea view. In the kitchen there is also a dishwasher!!!! Large bedroom and a very comfortable bed. Spotless apartment!!! Very close to the restaurants and supermarket. It was just perfect.

Nice small village with 2-3 places to eat. Great view to the sea and private beaches for those staying near the sea. It's easy to get to other visiting spots on the island because the roads are in good shape. Nice people living in there.

A quiet seaside village with gorgeous clear water to swim in...

A quiet seaside village with gorgeous clear water to swim in, and a fifteen minute walk away is a little beach with turquoise clear water. A short drive away is a National Park. There is a lovely restaurant in Sobra, called Lanterna, that is right by the water and serves delicious seafood, and the best spaghetti marinara we have ever had! Very special.

Sobra is tiny and suitable for people wanting an...

Sobra is tiny and suitable for people wanting an exceptionally quiet holiday, or who have a car or bike to get about & see more of Mljet. It has two restaurants and a sandwich shop and a very small mini mart with extremely limited stock (eg no eggs or hard cheese the week we were there). The restaurants are fine- one is predominantly pizzas and the other has a good choice. There are some walks out of Sobra if you’re ok with very hilly terrain and rough underfoot.

We stayed for 6 days and stayed in the apartment on the ground floor. The apartment fully corresponds to the pictures from Booking. Everything was perfect, and the most beautiful part is the terrace with a view of the Sobra. In addition to the incredible natural beauty of the island of Mljet, I would also like to single out the owner of the apartment, who is extremely polite and hospitable. Recommended to everyone!

By far the best experience we had in Croatia. The apartment is modernly furnished, spotlessly clean and the balcony offers a fantastic view of the bay of Sobra. Mihaela answers all questions quickly and also has great tips for trips on Mjlet - a perfect host. Thank you for the fantastic time!
