We spent three days (two nights) in Zagreb which was just enough to enjoy the city and its attractions. However on Sunday everywhere is closed inducing most restaurants, so there is not much to do if you are there on Sunday. Shops open from Monday to Saturday. The public tram system is excellent and easily manageable using the tram map. Great old city with lots of history and places to eat. They had an earthquake a few years back that damaged a lot of old buildings especially the cathedral. The hotel is right off the main square. Plus the tram system is very convenient and cheap at 0.53 Euros per ride. Also, had great pizza at Karijola at Vlaska 63 across from the Importanne building. Unfortunately this was the only place we felt was unwelcoming. Very dirty town and the earthquake damage is still very evident. No way to have a car there. It was very helpful to have accommodation near the tram line. Easy trip to the main square in town where the visitors' information centre is located. They provided me with a map and advice and I believe that I saw the best of Zagreb old town and "horse shoe" on foot in the morning that I had there.
